  • OK this is driving me crazy. Need help.

So im sitting there in trader mode trying to get something to sell, but I dont believe most people know what this does, so I wanna make a hotkey that will auction this item with a link and a brief description of this item. Problem is that I can't seem to be able to put a link in the hotkey lines, no matter what I try it always goes to the chat window, now, I know that this is doable, I've seen way to many people spam messages 4 lines long with links in them twice in two seconds, so they are not typing them out every single time, I just cant figure it out, someone please help.

Chances are, they just typed it out the first time, then used Shift+Up to re-auction the previous auction.

          Putting links into hotkeys

          It can be done.

You have to edit your hotkeys outside of the game with an editor that will allow you to insert non-ascii codes into the text file. A link begins with character code 0x12 in hex or 18 in decimal... the character looks like this: ""

I ran across a discussion on this a while back on the eqshaman forums. The URL for the thread is HERE.

The thread explains all the gory details including how to find the proper codes for the items you want to link and some exaples.

Finding the code is done by typing out a cross server tell followed by the link as far as I can make out. I haven't tried it yet my self.
