I will make 250 in all skills - I have my second account loaded with supplies ready to spend on the push. I'm just doing a slow climb in the AA points as I enjoy the game with friends in my guild.

Aw, folks...calm down...
This game has evolved so much over the four years it's been in existance, you can't make one statement about when a player is experienced enough of the game world to no longer be a "newb".
Let's take Lilosh for example. Is Lilosh a newb? No. Has Lilosh seen high level zones or is he lvl 50 or 60 plus? Nope. Will Lilosh probably ever see the elemental planes? Probably not.
But he's still an experienced player. He plays his game, being tradeskill focused, very well.
***
I felt I was a newb until I was 47ish. Then I felt a newb again at 61. Now I just feel old, crusty and used. Am I doing uber stuff, quad kiting in Plane of Fire, charm soloing in Plane of Water, cool stuff like that? Nope. I'm silk farming in East Karana.
The circle is complete.

The cupcake is DONE! 1750!!! And 7 Trophies! And a fishing pole! That summons beer! Woo! And Tarteene, the enchanting gnomish tinkerer of the 247th bolt and one neato Tinkering Trophy

It's all relative. I'd guess that the bulk of people in the top raiding guilds are the 3 year vet you described.Originally posted by PojodanI'm level 54 and hardly think I'm a n00b. I know my class well, having never been PLed and never had KEI save for after a few guild raids. I don't have an l33t gear, but I've put a lot of time into the games.
Sure, to a 3 year old vet with 5 60+ chars with one lvl 65 and 200AAs, yes I'd be pretty newbyish, but how many people consititute these types?
OTOH, post 50, level matters less than raid exp. I'd consider you less of a noob than someone that levelled to 60 in LOIO/OT/DL/KC/Velks with breaks every 2 hours to refresh KEI.

Fletching (oddly enough) is the first tradeskill I decided to try and GM. So I took my alt SK and worked his fletching up over 100 by simply killing mobs, collecting plats and making arrows (lvls 1 - 25ish). Sometime thereafter the Bazaar appeared and oddly enough you couldn't buy vendor arrows in Shadow Haven. I dusted off my SK and started in on making arrows and selling them in the Bazaar for a small profit. I was amazed when the arrows sold like hotcakes. In a very short period of time, I had maxed normal arrow fletching at 202 and re-outfitted my old Iskar SK with new gear and still had a couple K plat in the bank.
Farming Acrylia with a mid 30s SK is VERY slow going atm, but I refuse to pay 50p+ ea for small bricks of acrylia to make 2 arrow shafts. So now I've plodded along to 205. 250 seems very far away, sigh.
So if anyone wants to drop the ingredients in my lap or grant me 100k plat I'll be happy to forgo the rewards of doing it all on my own and take the easy way to GM fletching, lol.
