  • moving traders against their will

Does anyone know if they've fixed the "feature" that allows players to push traders out of trader mode and into the arena?

I just got a new cable modem connection, and would like to start leaving my mule online. There are some unsavory, pathetic people who would enjoy harrassing me in that way, though...

    So, I am safe?

Hundreds of thousands of people leave themselves in trade mode every single day while they work and sleep.

    Including me.

That post about the guy taken to the arena and killed was brilliant. It used levitate, which has since been disabled.

Even then it took a few hours of constantly camping and coming back.

You Really really reallly would have to hate someone to spend that much time and effort on it.

Getting someone out of trader mode for spite might not be so hard, but its never happened to any of my bazaar traders in all the time i've traded.

I routinely stand as far as possible out in the aisle, barely into trader mode to avoid people getting in front of me, so technically it should be easy to disable me.

I think the levitate thing still works, you can not directly cast levi on traders but MGB-ing SoE or GDMF will still get traders to levitate.

          re

Not to question, because I have no proof.

But are you sure MGB SoE will work in Bazaar specifically?

I dont know any druids with that skill anyhow, hehe.

As for DMF, I thought that was disabled, and its been a very long time since I saw a floating trader.... other than me when I forget to turn O'keils Levitivity off.

              Do group SoE actually exist?

I know Group DMF does, but its an incredible rare spell that only the guilds that use the Chardok queen as XP spot has a decent chance of getting.

Group SoE does indeed exist, its called Flight of Eagles, level 62 iirc.

I don't think they levitated the trader. The trader was very close to the edge of the trader area and they knocked him out (when someone logs in it'll push you a little) of the area and then levitated him. I could be wrong, but that's what it looked like to me.

The group DMF does work on people in trader mode. It happened to my trader about a week ago and everyone in the stall around me was also floating. So just a heads up on that one. Don't know about the SoE.

I don't know how it was accomplished, but when I went to the bazaar last night there was a whole string of traders on both sides of the stall floating. One gal was slightly out in the walkpath and out of trader mode. I felt bad for her, because I suspect that she was unaware of what happened.

I must admit though it was a very funny (visually) sight to see. The one gal in the walkway was spinnnig around and floating up and down. Looked like a carousel or something. Anyway I felt bad for laughing at the sight of it. ops:

Kinda have to wonder what the guy in the thread has done to make so many people hate him so much.

For most people, you'd only have to worry about being knocked out of trader mode. If you've done something to make people want to spend hours to push you to the arena and kill you, then you need to consider your actions a little more.

Heh...a couple weeks ago, a cleric friend of mine that I've been hunting with wanted to try out MGB aego, having just gotten mass group buff recently.
The cleric carefully positioned herself in the bazaar so that she'd hit as many people as possible, traders included. I had underestimated the range an MGB'd buff would have, too...

Then I thought, hmm, with people crowding around to get aego, I should do a mass group buff myself too...but what druid spell is MGBable, useful, and stacks with aego?
                            I've got it...flight of eagles!

And before I could give it a second thought, suddenly several crowded rows of traders were all floating...

Recently hit the bazaar and some one had went thru and cast wolf form on all the large races. Thought that was kinda funny. Made it alot easier to click on that halfling with the cheep mushrooms

I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.
Still Some of my favorite times spent online happened in Norath. The friends and mobs I remember fondly.
