  • Consuming inventory slot changed?

Recently I noticed that I would consume spell reagent from the 4th inventory slot instead of the 1st (I had dot stack in each of these, and I seen that the 4th one was decreasing instead of the other), I wonder if it is the same for stats food. Is it a new "feature"?

note: I consider the slot inventory as follow like the hotkey system
    1 2
    3 4
    5 6
    7 8

I've noticed regents disapearing from unexpected bags as well lately.

I have always kept my food and drink that I want consumed in spots 1 and 2 of bag 1 though so I can't say anything about that.

Tested on all slot, regeant are consumed on all slot first than the slot 1, that can be a bit annoying. However, stats food are not affected. Gonna /bug that as usual

Which is the same way that arrows are used for melee-types.

It may be that they just re-used the same code.

actually iventory slots are numbered as below

          15
          26
          37
          48

just watch how your bags go in next time you loot your corpse.

I didnt noticed about bags corpse looting. I usually begin to loot bags from up left, to right down in "Z" order, and I agree they are automatically disposed as you said.

But for sure it is a bit annoying if you like to order your regeant/ammo (order/discord, patch pun intended? )

The order of the bags and then the contents is as Greymantle stated in the previous post.

Also fyi, my Ranger has a fleeting quiver in slot one to get the bow haste. I placed a deluxe toolbox in the slot right below. I then placed a stack of hmp's in the first slot and got the benefits of the food.

from what I have seen, I believe the following is true

                a) when looting your corpse, if you loot let to right, top to bottom... equipment and bags go back in the same order you had them before you died.

                b) food and water come from the first slot found, first bag found... i.e. if you have 1 stack of your normal food and water in slot 7 and 8 in bag 8 the that where they would be take from, if you then dropped a summoned / foraged food or water in say slot 5 and 6 in bag 3 then these items would be used before you food or water in bag 8

                c) when casting a spell that uses reagent, or using a melee skill that has ammo the ammo comes from the last bag last first.

                Therefore

                Food & Water => Slot 1 Bag 1 to Slot 8 Bag 8
                Reagents & Ammo => Slot 8 Bag 8 to Slot 1 Bag 1

Last night I was enchanting some blocks of clay. I had one stack in the fifth slot down of my fifth bag if

                  15
                  26
                  37
                  48

the asterisk will indicate the locations of the clay in my bags. Five stacks total. The first stack in the 5th slot of an eight slot bag, the remaining four in the top slots of a ten slot bag

                  15
                  26
                  37
                  *8

                  **
                  **
                  38
                  49
                  510

The clay from slot 1 of the ten slot bag in the number six inventory slot was being consumed before the clay from the number four slot of the number five inventory slot. I know this sounds confusing but it was confusing me last night as well. I guess it's time to just bug it.

I'm not sure this is a bug. I think it MIGHT be a fix. (Bear with me a moment.)

An example. Assume you are making CEs.

                    Before:
You buy 30 Celestial Solvents and 30 Scent of Marrs. This is 1.5 stacks each and takes up a total of 4 slots in inventory. You do 10 combines. You now have 2 half-stacks of each, still taking 4 slots and 10 CEs.

                    Now:
You buy 30 Celestial Solvents and 30 Scent of Marrs. 4 slots in inventory. You do 10 combines. You now have 1 stack of each, taking 2 slots and 10 CEs.

It just might be a fix for those working on things like MTP where you have 40+ stacks of components on you and need to consolidate space as much as possible. Since the stacks fill in forward order, depleting in reverse makes it use the partial stacks first.

Of course, having partial stacks further down BEFORE you buy screws the whole thing up, anyway.

Edit: BTW, I realize you guys are discussing spell reagents, but I was just using the CE as an example. Feel free to substitute Poison Vials and Pearls to demonstrate the point.
