The cleric epic certainly is not irrelevant. It's still one of the most useful items a cleric can have.

The magician epic certainly is not irrelevant. Bard one is pretty nice too.

Guild size determines relevance of most epics, combined of course with commonality of equivalent items in the bazaar. As a cleric I am pursuing my epic, but my warrior never will. In my admittedly tiny guild we have two epicced druids, and in active pursuit: beastlord, ranger, rogue, shaman, paladin, enchanter, wizard. I suspect our necro will too as soon as he breaks 50.

Hmmm, I thought that since fishing requires you to constantly go back and forth selling your catches and buying bait that it would be subject to macro abuse. If it is then I guess it did have to be curbed. /shrug

As for the CE recipe still requiring a M&P...that really pisses me off. I've been waiting three **** weeks to make a few batches of CEs and get some skilling done. Now it'll probably be another three weeks before the next patch.

Hm, interesting. So are they trying to say that bolas are supposed to be bows for throwing?
Nope. One-handed porjectile is a weapon that you hold in one hand (as opposed to two) and then project it at people that you don't like.

In other words, you throw it.

Hehe, too true, too true. Stats are nice; and the damage/delay, even in this day and age, is still decent, and of course, the effect, 40% haste and +30 attack.

However, one beef. Tweaked drop rate on epic pieces and they don't touch Shattered Emerald of Corruption?

Not to help the epic basher bashing more.. but I have to agree, epics are far from irrelevant, not everyone in Everquest is level 65 plane of time equipped and/or have 200k banked for sweet twinkage, Cleric epic is definately a very important epic on any raid. Also most pure melees definately should have their epics. Not everyone has access to, by way of cash, or raid poewr to get high % haste items, so in teh case of rangers, rogues, monks (and warriors?) their epic is the most viable way to get such haste. on top of that, rangers, and beastlords also have a slow available on their epic which can be a lifesaviour in a lot of pinch situations, or hell just let that beastlord tank and slow ;D

Yes I guess I could also have added how few right-handed lightning bolts one tends to see, both due to the rarity of the SEoC and also for the fact that the weapon itself is more situational. As I don't have one, it's hard for me to comment on its usefulness, but I know I want one.

You don't need to be. For the low low price of 500pp you can buy a weapon that does as much DPS as the SK epic. Don't hurry though, there'll be plenty more in the bazaar after you buy yours. If you're attached to the lifetap proc you'll need to pay 3k to match the DPS of the SK epic. And the lifetap proc on the buyable weapon is effected by all those AAs you've been getting (SCF, ToL) unlike the epic.

As for the rangers, they're the ones that whine about have their haste tied to a subpar weapon in their offhand about a month after they get their epic and realize they've put themselves last in line for haste upgrades (or they keep their old haste item for when they need to do serious melee DPS). Maybe it's just the rangers I know.

Personally I'd be much happier if they took epics out of the game.

What other trade skill containers did they fix?

Collapseable spits? collapseable mixing bowls? etc......

There, I fixed it for you.

You'll get my Epic after you give me a Blade of Tempest to replace it.

Ah thanks, the ammo comment made me pause there so wasn't sure what the heck the patch message was trying to say. That is, I wasn't sure if they meant you didn't throw it since it wasn't ammo or what.

Kind of disappointing items then given they don't/can't stack. Think I'll stick to less hassle and less expensive fishbone darts when on throwing chars. Even for stun ones, considering what's required to make stun bolas, I don't see them as being remotely worth it for my rogue.
