  • Gold Nugget foraged in Frontier Mountains

Hiya, my 52 ranger in Frontier Mountains foraged a few Gold Nugget, just outside the entrance to Temple of Droga, flagged as "This item can be used in tradeskills".
A search here and elsewhere gives me no indication what recipe or what tradeskill it may be used for. A possible bug on the flag or an undiscovered recipe? Any info or advice would be appreciated.
Note: this doesn't appear to be the "other" type of Gold Nugget, a no-drop OR unsellable item (don't remember which right now). These ones can be sold to a vendor.
    Thanks
    Donbayne 72 ranger

Using the Search feature for Gold Nugget will show you that we don't have any tradeskill recipes for this item.

There are Iksar quests such as the Greenmist Crudgle and the Mancatcher that require odd foraged items from around Kunark.

I have done part of the warriors "Mancatcher" one and it requires you Blacksmith parts of it. I bet it belongs to one of these quests.

The Gold Nugget that cannot be sold to a vendor is for the Iksar Monk quest for the Shacle of Bronze. It identifies as "Frontier Fools Gold".

If this is the version that sells to a vendor then there is currently no use that I have heard of.

Um Loth? he said "A search here and elsewhere gives me no indication what recipe or what tradeskill it may be used for." So he did use the SEARCH before asking.

There are two types of foraged "Gold Nugget," one of which identifies as "Genuine Gold Nugget" and one which identifies as "Frontier Fool's Gold." The latter bears the tradeskills flag.

Searching on Allakhazam, it turns out the second one is used to craft a quest item for the Soldier's Pike quest.

Dyllwin was correct. It's for the monk shackle. I did that quest back before the shackles were human usable. It's combined in a quest container, thus the tradeskill flag (I'm guessing, not having done any combine quests in a long time).

No.... Doremi is correct. this particular nugget is for the Iksar pikes and combines in a forge, even potentially yeilding skillups (and failure iir!) hence the tradeskills tag.

I searched again, this time with eyes open

Hiya, I did another search on Alla and came up with the same info as mentioned above. Evidently there are 2 types and the Gold Nugget that I foraged can be used for the Iksar quest.
Thanks muchly for the replies, a small discussion like this is what I was hoping for, now we all know a little more......
After months of roots, veggies and globs of slush water, a gold nugget was a pleasant surprise!!

Maybe they're used in both. It would certainly explain why it has a tradeskill flag. The Fool's Gold is definetally used in the monk shackle. It doesn't sell to vendors, which is the easiest way to tell them apart.
