    Ground spawn means that it is an item that spawns and is sitting on the ground.

    Most, but not all, look like bags.

    Usually these are items for quests, but some are for tradeskills.

      Misty's Berry Patch

      If you go out and visit the halfling's thicket, head towards the valley off to the right of the hobbit hole entrance into their town of Rivervale, just past the mounds. You should be able to find 3 of those small brown bags on the ground. When they are picked up, you will be holding a bunch of berries. {grape icon}

      Another ground spawn which can be found randomly throughout the thicket are bright green leaves. The much sought after and highly prized Misty Acorns!

      Speaking of thicket's, the kitty's playground is Shadeweaver's.
      You'll find various "trash" piles discarded along the trail or in frequented picnic spots on the back hills. Collect 4 of them and fetch yourself a nifty satchel from Faer Shahar who wanders the path leading upto the entrance of Shar Vahl.

        The graphic varies depending on what the item is (just like dropping a sword has a different graphic than a backpack).

        The three most common graphics for ground spawn items, in my experience:
        1) Standard brown bag
        2) diamond-shaped green "leaf". Its normally flat on the ground, and can be rather hard to spot against the normal terrain.
        3) Red-veined grey/black rock.

        The russet & iron oxides in Steamfront are an example of the 3rd category (red-veined grey/black rock). Behind the "gears" near the mino caves, there are a few of the big "steam" graphics coming out of the ground - the groundspawns should be around there. Look for the little spots of red and black, and try to click them (but note you cannot pick them up "through" the steam). If you've picked it up, the item will dissappear from the ground and appear on your cursor.

          Just a quick note. You'll always find the red-black rocks right next to the two steam plumes behind the big gears, but be aware that the four spawns "inside" the plumes (two for each plume) are always moss covered scales. They look just like the ground spawn icon for the oxides, but the oxides are found very near and sometimes on top of the big gears (yes, even on the high face of the half-standing one, so run yourself up there to check).
