  • Ever Create a Gnome Just to Tinker?

I was curious if any non-Gnome folks ever created a Gnome and got him to lvl 16 just to take up Tinkering with him?
I figured after maxing out other Tradeskills you wouldn't be satisfied and would create a Gnome just for this?
I am new to Tradeskills but I see a Gnome for Tinkering in my future.
Any hardcore Tradeskill addicts then create a Rogue and get it to lvl 20 just to Make Poison? I am curious if this is down the road for me as well.
I thought I would only do Tradeskills with my main, a wood elf druid......but I think a Gnome and Rogue will be needed to satisfy the Tradeskill addiction.
    Anybody go through this also?

I have a gnome enchanter...someday she'll get above lvl 29. Created her to do tinkering combines for my guild (since we didn't have a GM tinkerer for bow cams, etc.) and use her for enchanting what she can (more levels plz thx!).

        She's fun. =) (and short)

I started one awhile back with the intent of making him a serviceable tinkerer. He's only L2 off of rodents right now and hasn't been logged in for a long time.

I don't know why I never went back to him. I guess it's cause I got busy on trying to max foraging on my forager bot (only L14 atm..).

I'm not a big alt guy...I usually create them with big plans and end up sticking them on the back burner indefinately when I realize I'm not having as much fun as I do with my SK.

I'm not sure if you're serious about the 250+ combines. But I do seem to recall buying a tinkering training point for my gnome when he hit 16th level (don't recall if it actually cost anything), which popped his tinkering skill from zero to 50. But I could be completely wrong.

Gnome enchanters are handy since they can enchant stuff for you as well. I leveled my enchanter to 24th level so he could enchant gold for jewelcrafting.

              Hi,

I created a Gnome Necromancer to make Bow Cams to help my main to max out fletching.

I picked the Necromancer due to their soloability which helped to get him to 16 quickly (to release to 50 Tinkering cap).

I dumped about 1k into some INT gear and then got his Tinkering skill up to 100 before I started making the Bow Cams.

I will definatly come back to the gnome to do some more tinkering down the road.

              Cheers,

As a fletcher, I needed a tinker, first for standard cams, then for planar ones. In the middle, I helped the guild's warriors on their epics with rebreathers. So I started gnomedegueer thinking I'd get to 122 where the simple progression ends, then it was 148, then 215, and recently I decided to push him to GM. The tinkering recipes seemed more fun, somehow, than a lot of the other skills. Add to that that I am more or less maxxed out at 200 except for evil tailoring, so tinkering was about the only place I could expect to get a skill up with a stack of attempts.

Now I need to think about whether little GDG should try to get some levels and open a Norrathian bus service to go with his tinker shop.

I created a gnome chanter to tinker for me, and make viscous mana.

He hit 53. last month. *grin* Tinkering is just under 180, sadly.

Why no, I don't have a level 16 gnome SK with 236 tinkering, but thanks for asking.

I made an enchanter, because I had never really played one...

And I kinda thought jewelcrafting would be cool.

Then I decided that a gnome would be cool so I could tinker if I wanted too.

Sadly, he's still got no tinkering skill, but only because I'm concentrating on smithing with my dwarf...

He's going to tinker though Heh

Guilty as charged. I use him for making enchanted clay, enchanted metal, mana vials, and of course tinkering.

I originally created a gnome cleric because I wanted to be able to tinker cams for my ranger main. That was roughly 2 years ago, and the cleric is now 62 and my main. My ranger is stuck at 51. )

Yes, a little chanter gnome. Then decided I rather want to level her than my other chanter since she was on a third account so I could have slows to go with my heals and tanking and she's now up to 230ish skill and about to hit 54th lvl. No such thing as overkill in these things, she needs 60th so she can KEI herself for all those imbues. It's very nice since she can help farm for her supplies and get xp at the same time. Throw in the enchanting and research and I'm quite happy with her. Once her skill was in the 200s she started paying her own way making various tinkered tools.

Oh and for rogue? Just getting to 20th for make poison wouldn't be enough. It's a level tied skill, same as alchemy for shammies.
