Just got to 250 in JC and going to start advertising. I am finguring I will get some business for metals as well as jewlery. What do you all normally charge per bar or stack?
There's not really any profit in selling metals. I have a chanter alt that I used to enchante plat, gold, slver, and electrum. I barely sold any of it at all. Most people have a chanter in their guild do it for them.
You stand to make better money selling enchanted cultural ores (that don't stack).
I charge based on how nice people are. Usually they're upfront with a donation for x# bars. I've had a Robe of the Tempest donated for doing about 120 bricks of fine steel. Thats probably one of the best donations so far. If they're rude, I just tell them that I'm busy, and that I'll get back to them (with no intentions of contacting them ever)...

I recently got 5pp a brick for chanting up some (non stack) steel. I could have made more selling KEI in PoK, but it is nice to help people.
One tip if you do this is to insist on having it handed to you in toolboxes or hand made backpacks. There is no need to put up with handing them back and forth one by one.
Making money on mana by enchanting metals is not very easy, since virtually everyone has access to an enchanter for single shot things, and most of the folks who need bulk enchanted metals are jewelcrafters, a trade that's very enchanter-heavy. Where it seems to be profitable is in the various mana vials, because they take a lot of mana to make, so not everyone can corner their favorite enchanter for the time, and they're needed for tradeskills not normally associated with enchanters, so it's less likely someone who needs a mana vial will be able to create it without your help. Figure out the cost of the vial, and the gem(s) needed, and add a small markup. Then, put a stack (or 10 if you don't have a lot of capital to tie up initially) of each on a Bazaar merchant, and you'll soon find which ones sell on your server, and when. Start ramping up production of those, and you'll see a steady (if not very large) stream of income from them.

I pay 1kpp for 30 bricks enchanted when I need some enchanted brellium(I buy the bricks in 3 10 slot bags and hand them over, hand over 1kpp when they are done and hand me the bags back), so that's 33.333pp per brick. You were doing charity work.
Of course, maybe that's why I rarely have an enchanter turn me down

I've seen a lot of variety when I've talked to other smiths. I've seen rates from 5pp per brick to 100pp per brick, to people paying 10-70pp lump sum for an indefinite "load" of ore (usually in the 20-40 brick neighborhood). I usually pay 10pp per brick + lump of [50pp or the single spell scroll], with runs between 10-40 bricks.
I don't have much knowledge from the Enchanter side of things for the cultural ores, though
I haven't seen a big market for the metal bars in any quantity lately. As for jewelry, I know the rings I usually end up looking for or making are velium hp/ac rings. Twinks can be a wonderful thing. Ore I am not so sure, I know there's at least one trader on my server who makes a point to keep some enchanted ore in stock so it does sell, the big issue is the stacking problems obviously.
Mana vials however still sell, and sell quite well. My favorite so far is clear mana and viscous mana (+heady kiolas). I can sell distilled and purified, but the base cost to them is high enough that there doesn't seem to be as big a margin for profit. I mean other traders don't mark those up much higher than lower vials and I haven't sold at a higher price. 30pp profit on an item that I may sell 5 of during the night isn't as good as an 8pp profit off an item I'll sell 80 of. There doesn't seem much demand at all for cloudy mana, it's not used in enough skillup recipes I guess.
When I start skilling on my JC, I plan on using unenchanted metals for a while. It's a waste of time for me to go enchant silver for a ring that I'm going to sell back to the merchant anyway. When I decided that I wanted to do JC to a high level, I started an enchanter so I can enchant my own metal whenever I wanted.
