Old World Dye

Recently I have tried to create Black Dye by combining Resin and Black Extract in a Medium Clay Jar. This is the exact recipe that is listed on EQTraders and it's listed as an alchemy combine.

I tried to do the combine on my druid because the recipe said it is a No Fail Combine. The combine did not work and i didnt even get an error message. I figured it must be because I am not a shaman with Alchemy skill. So i asked a shaman to help me out and he had the same luck as i did.

Does anyone know the reason why this combine will not work? If they removed it from the game then that is just stupid because there are many people without LoY who would still love to dye their armor.

Yet another Reason

Try DYE Combines in a rogue's Mortal & Pestel rather than Shaman's alchemy medicine bag.

I found with my young shaman that there was as acutally a training check to see if Cherles had learned his skill, while others who dabble in Toxins and Tinkers have never been prevented when they have tried.

Tis true that some of the no Fails use containers usually reserved for specific functions other than coloring, but it is something to mention here.

I've collected tons of OWD components and eventually got to the point that I used them to practiced alchemy. Not that sales afterwards in the Bazaar were desired, but then once I start focusing on Plate smithing, perhaps they'll come in handy later.

The thing is that it is not combined in a Medicine bag hehe. Its combined in a Medium Clay Jar =p

Have you tried varying the number of resins? I know it might not give the shade you want, but 1, 2, and 3 resins should all be valid combines. Maybe just the specific shade you're going for is broken. If the others work, you know its a specific problem with the shade you want; if they don't, then you know its a bigger issue (incorrect recipe/broken container).
