  • How many recipes are in the database?

I was wondering if there are any statistics on the recipes in the database especially divided up by skill and probably a lot harder which expansion and any cultural ones (not sure of all the attributes on the entries). Yep I know only ones submitted are in there but I would be really curious.

I would guess smithing has by far the most, especially including all the imbued ones, maybe baking or tailoring next down to either tinkering or pottery with the fewest. (Pretty sure that both poison making and alchemy have more recipes than either tinkering or pottery.)

I would try and count by hand but I am guessing there are over 5000 recipes maybe even more than 10000 recipes in the database.

Just thinking about it makes me even more appreciative of the work that Niami, Ngreth, Krazick, Verdandi, Lothay, and the others do keeping it going.

Anyone else find it interesting that the skill with 40% of the known recipes is also one of the hardest to raise

Nah, that's cause there are so many junk recipes in smithing that you never really use. I mean, who actually sharpens rusty weapons or converts tarnished weapons into ore? That there probably account for 100+ recipes. I mean I did convert FS Weapons into ore when I was skilling up on Halfling cultural tailoring kits though. Oh well...

Actually, I sharpened rusty blades to raise skill, because the cost was the cost of a few 3cp sharpening stones and the weapons dropped off decaying skellies, gnolls and other low level easy to kill mobs. I'm a cheapskate and was pretty low level at the time.

Of course I haven't bothered doing this since I trived it.

Turning tarnished blades into ore, no, I haven't done that. However, fine steel weapons into HQ ore, yes, a whole lot. I'm, going back to it now that they've jacked the HQ ore prices up again.
