Warning about Shared Bank Slots

Hello all,

I want to let you know about an issue that occured on Fennin Ro last Thursday night. After hunting for a couple of hours I returned to the bank to drop off my loot and foraged goodies only to discover that my shared bank vault was now empty. Both bags and all plat gone. Everything was there when I logged in.

This is just a heads up, because as of yet I've had no response indicating they are trying to fix this for me. I lost a ton of plat and don't even know what items, as I move stuff around like crazy being a tradeskiller and trader.

Just wanted to get this posted as a friendly warning...I'd be very careful about what I kept in the shared bank slots at this point.

Can you give me an idea of the last time you checked your shared bank, and what you did between then and the time you noticed the items and money were missing?

If this is something reproduceable and happening to a larger number of people, it'll be easier to locate the problem and fix it.

I last checked my shared bank this a.m. around 6 MST. It is still empty.

The events transpired like this:

I logged in Thursday evening around 4 p.m. MST and went to the bank to drop off some plat my trader had made during the day. I keep nearly all my combined plat in the shared slot for easy access to all my characters. At this point I had over 90 thousand plat and 2 bags containing various items (like I said, I can't say for sure what all was in those bags...but they aren't as important to me as the plat loss).

After hunting in Western Wastes and Dragon Necropolis for a couple of hours...oh, I stopped by the tribute guy to check what was left of my points before I went off to hunt...I then returned to PoK to dump off some plat and items and that is when I noticed the shared vault was now empty. No bags 0 plat.

I did not go link dead or exit EQ between having a good shared bank and an empty one.

Not sure if this helps at all but a few months ago I was logged on and eq crashed, when I came back the character I was on and my shared bank was gone. Not sure what happened, just giving more info about when.

the loss of plat happend to me a month ago right after i put it in the shred slot and a guide told me there was nothing they could do about it and i havent heard from a full gm since. AB server . i didnt even leave the zone.
basicaly i handed 250k from my main account wizard to my second account trader and immediatly logged the main account off at which time i put the 250k on my traders shared bank slot and went into trader mode and a few minutes later when i wanted to go buy and expencive item i went to the bank only to find the bank empty.
i now keep my plat on the character on trader account ( what i have left after the loss which hit me hard) and only put a couple k at a time in shared slot on my main

The first, and most important thing you should probably do, is to send in a petition and speak with a GM -- They should be able to help you with your loss. I can't replace the items myself, but I can pass the information along to the appropriate people.

Second, were there any server updates, or did any of the zones go down while you were in them, that you are aware of at least? (I know we updated sometime last week at 4:00pm PST, but I can't recall if it was Thursday or not.)

Once I get this information, I'll send it along to the QA guys so they can work their magic.

I have tried to get the response of a GM, both ingame and via email. The 2 guides I spoke with said they had forwarded my petition to a GM, but I've yet to hear from anyone.

There were no server updates or downed zones that I'm aware of on Thursday night while I was playing. It is very strange that the shared bank was fine when I began playing and then empty a couple of hours later.

Like I said, I did visit the Tribute Master in between the good and the bad...but I thought he only stole my tribute points...not my plat

I had an item go "poof" from my inventory a few days ago. I emailed and petitions and heard from a guide. One of the first questions the guide asked me was did I used my shared bank or summon containers that day.

The item was no drop, but I thought of this thread when I was asked that.

Still no item or response from a GM. The email told me to wait for a GM, the Guide told me to wait for an email /sigh.

there where no updates or anything in my case. business as usual.
also i havent heard from a full GM in over a month.

the only thing i can think of was it was really laggy in baz that day with some packet loss flicker around 1-3% BUT it wasnt doing that when i did the trade. i usualy dont have that much lag.

thanks for the interest in getting something done. its nice to see after years of playing that there are at least a few people that still care around

Since you seem to be reading information on this thread, I had an issue the night GoD launched (from the stores that is).

I had just finished making the armor needed for the 8th shawl quest and had it in my rallic pack. I ported to Great Divide to start the next step of the quest when I got zone booted (1017 error).

I logged back in about 20 minutes later and discovered that my rallic pack was gone.

I petitioned every night I logged on for 9 days straight. I even emailed the technical support to the server GM and I still to this day have not heard from anybody.

Whoa guys, let's not start turning this into a "well since you're responding to XXXX" chain reaction please. If it's not obviously related to the shared bank slot problem originally stated, please resist the derailing urge.

I had a fungus smeared bracer in my shared bank account (50k on Terris Thule) and it went *poof*. A guide said he'd "Escalate" the petition to a GM. But it never happened, I've petitioned 3 times with the same results.....*sigh*. I've counted it as a loss.

On Venril Sathir, we were warned back at the start of the month not to keep things in shared bank/cash slots for any length of time. I had assumed this was a general warning across all servers
