like they made named mobs random pop after a zone reset to prevent camping them, they could maybe random reset merchants somewhere between 24 hours and several days.

    /random 24 96?

As I tried to point out, if there is nothing on the merchant, what would resetting an empty merchant do?

I strongly suspect that the code for handling PC merchants is at the root of the change to NPC merhcants that got rid of their "extra" slots.

Max number of bazaar trader slots = 80.

Max number of merchant slots = 80.

        Coincidence?

Rewde, I am curious to know what you would suggest then to solve the problem of useless items taking up space on vendors.

I think that SOE might be ameniable to changing it so useless items poof. With the recent plat problems, they would love to see anything that could remove plat from the system. They would not care who it came from if it meant less plat in the system.

There is also the matter of market saturation. If the useful items are found in larger quantities in the bazaar, price wars will begin and we tradeskillers will reap the benefits of bargain shopping.

Think about this...is it better to have ultra rare drop you need for a combine in the bazaar at a possibly obscene price or not available at all because the vendor it was sold to prefered to keep his supply of golden teeth?

To be honest, I would leave it "as is". But, IF they were to implement the additional 10 hidden slots again, I would not complain.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. And, if the plat for cash farmers controlled most of the market, the prices would not be dropping.

A Prime example, on my server anyway, would be Boots of Flowing Slime, was going for 75-85k on a regular basis, now running between 125-150k.
