  • Crafted Items vs Tribute System

I have been able to turn in items to the Tribute master, that have been crafted using: Smithing, Jewelry, Tailoring, but haven't found anything yet from Brewing
or Baking that the Tribute Master will accept. Forgot to mention that some items from Pottery, like the Opal Encrusted Stein is accepted, but a Cassarole Dish isn't. I haven't tried to turn in items from Fishing or Tinkering.

Do you remember if items you turned in had stats? I think that might make a difference to the tribute masters. I don't have GoD yet so I can't check it out for myself

Now that you mention it, I beleive that the items acccepted by the Tribute
Master, did have stats. The Cassarole
dish didnt, items like hides, furs etc of course didnt. But the finished product using the hides did have stats and were
      accepted by the Tribute Master.
You bring up a good point.
Further research needed I can see

Maybe it has to be equippable stuff?

No, not equippable only, I tried a 10 Dose Blood of the Wolf, and it was worth 20 tribute.

Do you think that SoE will allow those of us who didn't choose a releigion because at the time we started religions were almost useless (with the exception of a few itmes, which there were just as good items for everyone else, and faction, which could *easily* be solved with some quests or killing)?

            I doubt it, too.

If you want to change your religion from agnostic to something else, send a /feeback in game suggesting they implement some kind of quest for that. Better yet, come up with a quest for it and /feedback that.

Hmm, what religions can a wood elf rogue choose from?

                Bristlebane?

I know Tunare and I think Karana.

Tunare would be good, then I can use a lot of the WE cultural, but I'm wondering how that would kill my current Neriak faction?

I'll do some research tonight. TY for the suggestion.

                  Breweers-Bakers Vs Tribute Master

I now ahve tried to turn in "Stat" items crafted by Brewing and Baking, to the Tribute Master and he refuses the items.
Sooo, we're back to square 1, with items from Tailors, Jewelers and Smith's being accepted by the Tribute Master and the
Brewer, Baker being left out in the cold ... so far. Tinkers, Poison Makers -- I can't make these items so don't know if stuff from these Tradeskills can be turned in.
Ohh .. I did try and turn in "Magic", Crafted Arrows and he refuses them also.
                  More research needed

Maybe the reasoning is that you can't make a tribute from something that you would consume - food, drink, arrows... shurikens (has anyone checked for thrown stuff?), stuff with limited charges? The +fishing bait thing was an oops and has been corrected.

Everything I checked had to have stats to become a tribute as well.

Baking - can turn in garlic buttered crab souffles (as I recall was worth like 1 point each heh)

Brewing... can turn in coldain velium tempers heh

Yes, I really DO try turning in everything

bloodmetal earring was worth about 20-30k points. (no I didn't turn it in)

                          What I've Noticed about Tributes

I have a few insights on Tributes, since I tried some turnin offers to see what I got. Acrylia studded gorgets get 24 tribute points for me, and acrylia reinforced masks get 12. Opal steins got 24, and arctic wyvern hides would have drawn three. It seems that if the item will sell to a merchant for more than one platinum piece, it'll go to the Tribute master. After that, items with stats draw much higher favor (an earring I found on a merchant that had a focus effect but only cost me 7 gold got favor points, but not many).

I know it's not much, but it's a start. I'll continue to test my theory and will report what I find.

Yeah, I've been thinking about it, but there are some nice Tunare only cultural arrows...

I think Bristlebane would also be less of a faction hit with Neriak, and more in line with my character.

I think this may be a new item that could be part of the trade skill data base (/ducks the rotting vegitation tossed by the EQTraders keepers). It gives you one more thing to weight when skilling up. Some item shave a good return from the tribute masters and that may be worth the effort to take a path a little less traveled.

I am no longer skilling up but based on the items that I have checked today I have destroyed many thousands of poins worth (/em crys over spilt milk).

Acrylia sleaves 692 points (just adding the info I gathered today). The points allocated for trade skill items is well balanced; not worth making JUST for the points but if your skilling up anyway there is an added bonus.

The biggest advantage I see is it gives you a reason to do your trade skills at home rather than in PoK.
