  • New UI.

Hello. I just recently came back to everquest after a much needed break and clicked on my sewing kit and got htis new UI.

Before I left I had all my trade skills 170 plus and enjoyed doing them.

Is this new UI good for tradeskills and if so how does it work? I spent abouit 20 minutes messing with it but couldnt figure anything out with it,

    Thanks a lot.

Sorry, I looked through the first couple of pages but didnt find anyting. A link to another thread would be great too.

The sticky at the top of this forum would be a start: http://mboards.eqtraders.com/upload/...threadid=13782
Then still on the front page is:

Ok, So I read that and what I got is that ther is no use for the new UI besides it tells you the stuff you need for combines?

      That sucks if true.

I reworked the new Tradeskill window:

If you like it, you can download it as part of my Custom UI. Just copy EQUI_TradeskillWnd.xml to you own UI folder.

The new UI is very nice. Not only it tells you what's needed, but it also removes the need for dragging the components and stuffing them into the container.
Just pull up a recipe using search engine, and if you have everything needed in your inventory, all you have to do is click Combine. To wit, just yesterday, I blasted through 160 Mino Hero Brews (9-item combine) in about 5 minutes.

Most recipes are pre-loaded, some you need to succeed at least once for them to become available via search.

Oh wow so the need for tons of clicking is gone once you combine it once?

Thats nifty but has to suck for all the people who clicked it all the way up.

So now tradeskills will be easier to master?

              Some skills - yes.

Most impacted will be Brewing, Jewelcraft, and likely Baking.
Fletching - up to 202. Pottery roughly to 150.

Tailoring and Smithing will get easier too, but mostly due to ease of subcombines. Converting silks to swatches/threads, making leather padding, studs, boning, tempers and curing agents will undoubtedly get less strenuous. But high-end smithing, fletching, tailoring, pottery and baking will still need a lot of farming, foraging, etc.

Processing all the velium I get has gotten 10 times easier with the new UI. The biggest benefit for me is in those combines you do hundreds of times over.
