    Maddoc and Tanker,

Your attention to and concern about this is VERY much appreciated by this tradeskill junkie. Let me try to give you a few specifics about which recipes vanished and/or changed in my recipe book. And just to reiterate, I have never added anything to a Favorites List.

The way I approached this was that on Tuesday afternoon, I went to the EQTraders website and printed out 23 pages worth of new baking recipes. I started plodding through them in alphabetical order from the print-out to check on the trivials and add them to my recipe book. I had progressed through every Barbecued, Beer-Battetered, Beer-Braised Recipe, and had started on the Buttered ones. A few I did Wednesday, but most I did Thursday. As I did each combine I would check the recipe book and write down the trivial number on my print-out, so I know for sure they were added as I went along. Also maybe worth noting is that for most I only did the combine once.

Now when I open the oven (I have only used stationary ovens, if that matters), and search on Barbecue I have 7 recipes that appear:

    Barbecued Crab Souffle
    Barbecued Crab Soup
    Barbecued Cragbeast Pie
Barbecued Cragbeast Sandwich (more on this one in a moment)
    Barbecued Hynid Sandwich
    Barbecued Tuna Rolls
    Barbecued Tuna Souffle

Now the BBQ Cragbeast Sandwich is interesting because I never actually successfully made that. Barbecued Crab Meat + Loaf of Bread was yielding a Lemon-Buttered Cragbeast Sandwich, both on Wednesday and Thursday. I did a bug report on it Wednesday. Now the Lemon-Buttered Cragbeast Sandwich is gone from the list.

Barbecued Crab Appetizers are gone from list, but now I have an entry for Grilled Crab Appetizers, which I never made. The ingredients that show up when I highlight that recipe appear to be correct for it ... Vegetables + Grilled Crab Meat. Ditto for the Barbecued Crab Rolls.

Barbecued Crab Cakes are gone from list, and doing a search on Cakes doesn't pull up any other flavor of Crab Cakes that I hadn't made. In other words, I see Beer-Battered Crab Cakes, Beer-Braised Crab Cakes, and Buttered Crab Cakes ... but I had made each of those so they should be there. Ditto for the Barbecued Crab Pie, Crab Sandwich, Crab Steaks, and Crab Stew.

I won't go over all other items one by one in this message, but I hope this gives you a clearer explanation of what happened.

Hmm .. now that I look at this closer, it seems most of the problems are with the Barbecued recipes. Beer-Battered Cragbeast Soup seems to have morphed into Grilled Cragbeast Soup, and Beer-Battered Cragbeast Soup and Beer-Battered Cragbeast Stew seem to be totally gone, but all the other Beer-Battered Crab, Cragbeast, Hynid and Tuna items look fine. And every Beer-Braised recipe is in perfect shape!

Okay, I feel a little better now But boy, this morning when I saw folks mentioning recipes being messed up and I did a spot check on my lists ... saw only 7 Barbecued recipes, and that all sauces I had made and most of the teas were gone from the Brew Barrel recipes, I was one broken-hearted little tradeskiller.

I had this too - all my favorites changed into odd things (acrylia boning wanted three large blocks, and reinforced took some odd pelt that wasn't flawless rockhopper). Anyway, it wasn't major - the autolearn recipes were there and had to be readded, and the acrylia reinfoced sleeves added themselves once I made a pair. Gave me a start when I first saw it though!

Hi guys, sorry I haven't noticed this thread till now. Maddoc brought it to my attention. Unfortunately, I also coded Tribute, and I've been working with the designers who set the Tribute values to fix the problems we've had there. This has kept me from debugging the issues here until now (well, Tuesday, anyway).

Thanx for all the specific info, guys. This really helps a lot. Here's what I've got so far (with no debug time, yet):
          - The issue with components staying "red" when you auto-inventory is known and easy to fix. It's just a call I need to make anytime your inventory changes, and I missed a couple places (when you buy from merchant, autoinv, etc.).

          - The issue with "favorites" showing the wrong info and whatever should be fixed when I implement a a fix for "broken" recipes that get fixed. Don't worry about it, it's on my list. Pretty sure I won't get it done for Tue/Wed patch next week tho, as it won't have time to be on test first. Look for it the patch after.

          - Finally, the missing "learned" recipes is a stumper. There doesn't seem to be a way that could happen, so I'm gonna have to play a bit to see what's up.

Thanx again for all the test-help. We need to get more of you into beta next time, heh. Maybe then Niami can actually get some sleep.

          Keep playing guys, have fun.

This problem with the recipes being screwy after a patch was happening even back on Test. There were two times I logged onto Test after having learned some recipes only to find when I tried to make them that I couldn't anymore because the UI was listing the wrong ingredients, and wouldn't list the right ones until I deleted the recipe from my favorites list and relearned it.

There is another problem with the UI that I have come across. I was doing smithing the other day. I learned and made a few recipes (LDoN bracers) favorites, but as I went on and learned the recipes for the rest of the LDoN armor, the "Add" button to put the recipes in my favorites list was greyed out and I couldn't add them to my list. Worked fine for the bracers, then just stopped working. It stopped working BEFORE the patch Friday morning, and still wasn't working after the patch on Friday.

Also, I was able to learn recipes for all the LDoN armor EXCEPT the Deep Cavern Pauldron. I had two successes and never received a message that I had learned the recipe, though I did learn the recipes for the other four LDoN pauldrons.

It's not a matter of just wrong favorites, I could live with that, but it resulted in wrong 'learned recipies':

I learned and favouritezed(sp?) 3 of the various gnome robes (intellect, breath, astral if I remember right).

When looking again favourites showed wrong recipies (other robes). Next searching robes gives me robe of tears, slant and vitue , which I cannot make, and my robes are gone.

When I turn on favourites now, the faulty robes are shown.

I want my own learned recipies back, please!

No new "added" recipes to favorites

Prior to the patch yesterday afternoon (or downing of Abysmal Sea zone) I was having no problems with the interface. After the zone was brought back up, I was not able to "add" any new recipes to my favorites.

I was working on the various wayfarer trade quests, and specifically Tailoring at the time. Same thing when I move to Smithing. I was not able to "add" any recipes as favorites. However, I was still able to learn new recipes (by "experimenting") and the interface remembered the learned recipes, at least to the extent I could search for them. They just wouldn't show up as a favorite.

Thanks for your attention to this. I really do like the new interface alot!

There is a maximum amount of "favorites" you can have, which is 30.

That 30 is also a shared favorites list across all tradeskills (not 30 per tradeskill, 30 total). Those of you who were not able to add any recipes to your list, do you suppose you might have filled up all 30 available slots?

If that's the case, we might be able to increase that a bit, but I'll check with Tanker on Tuesday.

I only have 6 smithing recipes (5 LDoN bracers and medium quality folded sheet metal) on my favorites list and am not able to add anymore, so its not that I have maxed out the list.

And 30 shared is EXTREMELY low when shared across all 7 major tradeskills...thats 4 favorites per skill! A dedicated tradeskiller is going to have hundreds of favorites, if for no other reason than some of the stuff we try to make requires a lot of subcombines. I mean, look at the MTP. Look at Halas 10lb meat Pies.

1 - subcombine to make Cream
1 - subcombine to make Creamy Fennel Sauce
                    4 - subcombines to make Lion/Bear/Wolf/Mammoth Fillets
4 - subcombines to make fillets in cream sauce
1 - subcombine to make clump of dough

11 subcombines for a single recipe...there is over 1/3 of our favorites allotment right there.

The number of favorites absolutely NEEDS to be raised. Most dedicated tradeskillers are looking at a minimum of 30 faves per skill, quite probably more like 50.

I didnt make 30 yet, and it seems like an awfully low number to me when shared. I figure I would need more in line with 30 per skill ..

I also have the problem that I can not add anywhere near 30 favorites across all tradeskills. I have maybe 15 tops? I will take a look at how many I have total.. maybe the cap is just set wrong. Otherwise it's definitely a bug as the add button is greyed out.

I had learned all of the the Collapsed [Tradeskill Container] recipies through PoP Tinkering bar one. I added them to my favourites, and had logged out & logged back in, all the recipies were there in both my search (showing learned recipies) and in my favourites.

I went away for the weekend (14/15 of Feb), logged in when I came back and every one of them was missing from the Learned list, and my list of Favourites was now pointing to other recipies seemingly randomly in the list.

Unfortunately, I'm out of farmed components, so it's hard for this little gnome to try and learn them again, and I'm not keen to if they risk dissapearing yet again.

I've hit the 30 limit... nice to know why i couldnt add more now though =)

~7 in the Portable Brew Barrel
                              ~7 in the Brew Barrel
                              ~15 in the normal forge

                              ..

So thats why I couldnt add my cultral recipies..

The problem with 30 as the limit is that us tradeskillers are basically forced to learn other things =)

For example, just to maky DE cultral i need:

                              1) leather padding
                              2) silk thread
                              3) shadow temper
                              4) enchanted adamantite rings
                              5) enchanted adamantite jointing
                              6) folded sheet of velium
                              7) coldain velium temper
                              8) celestial temper
                              9) blue diamond powder
                              10) purified water
                              11) celestial essence

                              Then add in..
                              12 imbued chain
                              12 non imbued chain
                              12 imbued plate
                              12 non imbued plate

Thats 59 recipies just for smithing cultral for dark elves =)

However, if all I did was smithing that wouldnt be any kind of a problem because when I reach the cultral forge it's a short enough list that I dont need to count thoes anyway....

The real problem is that i dont only do cultral smithing..

I also make Tae Ew armor and subcombines..

I'm also working on reaching 250 in tailoring...

I'm also working on reaching 250 in pottery

I'm also working on reaching 250 in ect.. ect.. ect..

So just favoriteing the commonly used things will quickly fill up the 30... and even more so with the fact that the 30 counts each kind of container (not just each tradeskill)

                              =============

                              My suggestion:

                              Give 30 per tradeskill

or add another 30 when you GM a tradeskill (that would give thoes of sitting at 250 something that we do better than a 240 + trophy person anyway =P)

                              ===

Thank for the new tradeskill UI ... we LOVE it.

thank you, thank you, thank you =)
