  • Skill-up trash and Tributes

Word is you can buy tribute points with items as well as plat. I had this idea when at work, so I can't try it out myself now, but has anyone else thought of trying to turn in their skill-up trash for tribute points? I'm thinking of the 100 or so unfired planar steins I just dropped next to the pottery wheel last night, and wondering how many potential tribute points I threw away...

It would mean going the extra step of running to the tribute NPC when you are full, but it might be worth it if it works.

My impression is tradeskill made items are worth relative a lot at the Tribute master, but rumours are its due to be changed ..

I dumped a bunch of opal steins I had built up from skilling up pottery, each was worth 1280 favor points.

One platinum = One Tribute Point.
Tribute Masters buy your items in tribute what an NPC vendor would give you for the item in platinum.

So, I doubt you wasted anything at all.

I believe someone stated that wyvern masks were about 600 tribute points. I plan to check those stupid ceramic bands as well.

I still have bags of acrylia studded masks on a mule that I used for skillups. I'm very happy to have something to do with them.

What are tribute points used for?

buffs with time duration basically. get them started at you hometown and they last while you have the points for it. think it is god only though. not sure if you can with GoD.

This thread seems relevant, sorry for cross-post:
                  http://mboards.eqtraders.com/upload/...threadid=13803

Suffice it to say this might be a mistake on SOE's part, but it also just might be a way to provide a non-cash reward for folks doing skill ups on a non-profitable path.

It helps us and might draint he economy of overly cheap twink gear.

I am selling them faster then hotcakes. I've upped my price and still selling lol! I think I want my money instead of the tributes.

It is nice to see basic economics work by the book.

increase the utility of an item, and demand goes up. Increase the speed at which it is used up (tribute = poof) and demand goes up.

Demand goes up and prices go up.

Time to get my tailoring from 190 to 200 I guess!

It's also motivating me more to spend money to finally increasing my skill in trades that were too costly to me before. Now that I know I have two viable alternatives to selling to a vendor. I can A. sell to players at a higher price than before and possibly make some profit, or B. feed to tribute master.

I hope they keep in higher points for items like this. I'm still paying to increase my skill. Not like I can really twink with the tribute's required levels, and heck, might be able to start selling things people traditionally skillup and then dump on the market by the 100s at some profit rather than an insane loss. I'm practically giddy with joy!

If you are skilling up in things, it seems the a skil mod plays a major role in the skill points.

Compare two greyhopper hide combines, shoes (which has a +2% safe fall) with tunic. Both trivial at 95:

                            The Shoes have 1,016 points:
