I think what happened is that since you can't do normal combines in a cultural tradeskill container, it will only show cultural recipes, and vice versa. Also, I'm guessing that most cultural recipies are on the "CanLearn" list, not the "AutoLearn" list.

I can't 100% verify that, but I believe you're right. I have a Deluxe Sewing kit and a Coldain Sewing kit and they each have a different list when it comes to searching. I haven't checked my Vale Sewing kit as I'm not high enough to try the decent halfling gear, but I wouldn't be surprised if I have to "CanLearn" all the cultural gear.

Another thing I noticed. I'll have to do some more experimenting, but I think that favorites list are on a per container basis. I was in PoK making Ol'Tujums and Faydwer Shakers until the merchant sold out of supplies for the Shakers. Zipped over to East Freeport and Shakers weren't on my favorites. If I remember correctly, I also believe I had to do a "CanLearn" combine to get it to appear on my search.
