Another option you might consider is buying the ridiculously cheap yearly subscription to Magelo (their premium subscription as opposed to their free one). The Magelo updater allows for an account to be auto-synch'd in the bazaar while you're in trader mode. It's merely a matter of checking your inventory after that point to see if you sold anything. And you can check your Magelo profile from work assuming your company hasn't blocked the site. as a "game" site.

Phear teh Sulloners. Evils were getting an AA in 5 minutes using some charm/invis bug, and a chanter in my guild caught them doing it yesterday. Humorously enough, there Just So Happened to be 3 Guides on at once (IE, a blue moon). I hope they lost all the xp they ever got using that exploit. /cross fingers.

      on the upside... clean vendors!

I still don't see why weird recipes with farmed components and vendor bought components can't sell back for Best_Cost(Of the vendor bits) - 10p.

I mean honestly. If I have to farm research words and spend 100plat on a ribbon, why should I get 6 copper and some lint back? Or when I spend 100p and a stupidly rare forage to make a ribbon, why does it sell for 20p?

Yeah, they're nice plat sinks. But there's a big difference between "Excessive profit" and "Gaping loss". *grin*

                    Just my two cents,

I would guess that it's to encourage you to sell it to other players rather than vendors.

Aye, in just a few minutes of mining PoK merchants, I found six blue diamonds, a dew clover, two coiled springs, two nightmare saps, five small pieces of velium, a drop of pure rain, and a highly polished gem.

I wonder if SOE could set up NPC merchants so that their oldest item would disappear when their inventory gets full and someone sells something to them? That way, items that aren't purchased by players would eventually be removed from their inventories.

Hmm, now I have net connection again I may go a'hunting. Doubt there will be anything worth getting.

Last night on Terris-Thule most knowledge vendors were competely full of non-wanted crap already. Went to a few other good vendor-mining zones and they were full of crap too.

The problem is that several people can shop from the same merchant at the same time. If you've got a Highly Polished Stone selected and one millisecond before you click buy it gets replaced by a Fine Steel Longsword, you might get upset.

Perhaps if you're willing to put up with a few-seconds delay, where the merchant says 'let me make room for that', then spends the next 2 seconds telling all the other shoppers that the oldest item is sold out, and then buys your item from you when it's certain the message got through. That time delay should be enough so that the merchants won't be vulnerable to hacking and duping and race conditions.
