I am getting a lot of these dropped in the elemental planes and see a lot for sale in the bazaar, but when I put them up even for some really low prices no one buys them. My question is, do any of you actually buy the mephit skins or do you just not need them?

The mephit skins are common. You use one for each combine of leather armor.
The other ingredients include metals, bloods, saps, and temper ingredients. Each of those is uncommon, you need several of each for each combine, AND they are also used for other tailoring, smithing, and pottery combines.
The way the math works out, you're always going to have many more mephit skins than you can possibly use.83/1000 High Elven Enchanter on cazic (8x300 tradeskills)
