I apologize if this in an inappropriate place to post this question, but how can I get on the Test Server? I've read somewhere that I need to copy all my EQ files to a new folder and get onto Test from there, but frankly none of that really explains anything to me. If there's a more complete answer in another forum or on another site, I'd very much appriciate the information. I'd love to go look at the new TS window for myself. I've been fascinated by all the reactions to it here and I wanna see it too!!

In your EQ directory, there is an .exe file called testeq or something similar. It will have the regular EQ shield icon in windows explorer. Double click that and you are set.Tinile, 85th Druid of the Seventh Hammer

the reason people say to copy your eq files to a new folder, is because test server will repatch a bunch of your live files. so when you go back to your live server, the patcher will have to re-patch what test just re-patched.
so having two folders should speed things up quite a lot and prevent you from having to repatch the repatches.
at least that is my bonehead understanding.
i just put up with the repatching of the repatching of the repatches cuz we have DSL and i'm supposed to be working anyway

getting onto Test
<guffaws>Ndaraar, thanks for the heads up on the repatches of the repatches of the repatches. Got it. And thank you, Tinile for explaining what I actually need to do inside those copied files. These two are MUCH MORE helpful than the other info I've gotten.Bril and Mil
