I'm sure this has been discussed to everyone is blue in the face, and I'm sure I know the anwser, But... In reguards to Trophies and Gerloks, is there any Hard evidence that they do not stack... I am at a point in tailoring that is the most painfull (for me anyways) skill of 203, if both of these would infact stack I could do the PoP silk swatchs till 212 which would save me tons of Plat

If you mean to ask "Has anyone examined the code to verify they don't stack"... no, because only Sony has access to the code.

BUT... Sony has stated in the past, and has continued to state over and over and over... they DO NOT STACK.

As for the slight possibility that Sony is wrong, and they do stack, the general feeling is those folks who have tried cannot say it does or doesn't. And unless you go and do lots and lots of statistical analysis across thousands of combines to see if it makes any difference... the answer is NOBODY has done it.

    again:

Sony has stated in the past, and has continued to state over and over and over... they DO NOT STACK.

If you are at 201 AND have your trophy, it seems to me you are in a position to verify for yourself if the modifiers stack.

Try the PoP silk swatchs at 203 and see if you are allowed to combine. If not, they don't stack. Report the results back here, of course. Even though I'm sure of the answer, a little more confirmation couldn't hurt.

I think I speak for most of the EQTrader community when I say

              DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE

              Failed at 210 + geerlok
              Failed at 220 + geerlok
              Success at 240 + geerlok,

Not that I am bitter or anything well done for being brave enough to try.

(Or is it only me who has failed so many times

A good friend of mine failed the fletching trophy about 8 times at 250. First try at 200 (and a skill up to boot) is great.

                  Modifiers do not stack, yes.

But ouch, you had to mention the *only* skill with an exception. Regular picklock modifiers (e.g. gloves) and (the only known exception Mechanized Lockpicks *do* stack. This is most likely because the lockpicks have to be hold in hand and therefore needed additional code to gain their 2% skill modifier. And yes, this has been tested and reported at the Safehouse.

It's been proven that tradeskill mods do not stack. Players have attempted PoP combines, that require 220 modified, holding 2 different modifiers (geerlok, dropped items, trophy) and having unmodified skill under 210. It would not let you do the combine until 210, meaning only 1 modifer worked. Subtract numbers for higher % modifiers.

I have a slight twist to the question about stacking that I've never seen addressed anywhere: Since modifiers don't stack, does that also mean that if I have, for example, a smithing geerlok and my grandmaster's fletching knife both equipped, only one of the modifiers is in effect? And if so, which one?

I commonly keep the knife equipped for the CHA and WIS while tradeskilling, but if it's cancelling the effect of other geerloks, I need to be smarter about that..

Um, no, what's being said is that only the highest modifier for a given skill is counted at once - not that only 1 skill modifier (for all skills) is counted. Otherwise, things like a +3% channeling modifier could be overridden by a +5% baking modifier.

You won't catch me tailoring with my brewing trophy in place along with my tailoring geerlok....
