  • Reco for 2nd GM skill

My enchanter currently is a JC GM and has 3 AA's burning a hole to move another skill (baking, brewing, or pottery) to GM status. Which of those 3 would you recommend taking to GM and why?

    Thank you in advance.

brewing is cheap but has 9 item combines. can power all the way to 248 store bought and make your own magnums for champagne.

pot smoking i dont have much exp in.

baking is what i gmed first. assuming if looking for a second gm you are getting aa and 51+ and thus planar capable. i am still not and it will make it much easier. if you want to foods like picnics go hear. most of the use from brewing is tempers for simithing with maybe some tailoring curing agents. will take longer but you will prolly get more use out of it. qeynos afternoon tea and grobbs meat can be done reasonably well at 200 +5%. not as good as gm but not shabby either. picnics have a horrid success that low.

i say baking but my next gm will prolly be brewing then jc, then fletching. jc is a pretty easy skill just a little pricey up front.

    Maker of Picnics.
Cooker of things best left unidentified.

Depends on why you desire to push another tradeskill to 250.

      Do you want to:

      A. Do the Aid Grimel Earing? (or some other Tradeskill Type Quest)

Answer: Get Smithing up, for Aid Grimel since that is the first required tradeskill.

      B. Make Money selling your products?

Answer: Brewing - It is easier via store-bought components to reach 250. And you can make and sell Grobb's Liquidized Meats for profit

      C. Join the 1750 Club?

Answer: Doesn't matter which is next, but select the one which is at 200 Skill currently. If all are at 200... then Take either Baking or Brewing... They are easier to push to 250 then Pottery.

      D. You have nothing else to spend your AAs on?

Answer: Log out of EQ, go out and enjoy Real Life - You have spent way too much time playing EQ and need to get a sun-tan.

I would say to hold off on Brewing until after the new UI tradeskill patch. This will make it much easier to do the MHB.

Baking can be a good alternate as you can actually have a use for the items you make. Lots of the GM type food have stat enhancers and can be sold for these reasons.

Note however that there is no date set for the next trade skill patch. It may be live in January or February, or maybe later, or maybe it'll get dumped some time along the way...

            Krizick,

Log out of EQ, go out and enjoy Real Life
Good advice! But I'm a crazed tradeskiller.

I will get to 65; just want to enjoy the game along the way. Thanks all for the advice.

There's also no guarantee that MHB will be included in the recipe list of things you can make easily. The way I read that message was that it was going to be things that are trivial to you, or very near your skill level. That would tend to exclude MHB (Minotaur Hero's Brew, in case you were wondering.)

This includes recipes that are at your skill level as well as some above it

with no dragging and dropping unless you want to try a combine that is way out of your league, which uses the old style of combination

small tidbit copied from the EQlive site about the new tradeskill UI. found at http://eqlive.station.sony.com/updat...ng_updates.jsp

So this sounds alot like it will have things that are "close" to trivial on the page for you.
