  • Bag Sales (POST Token patch)

Just curious how prices have been affected on other servers since the implementation of the tokens.

On Veeshan the easily made bags (handmade backpacks) dropped from 75ppish to 50pp.

The harder to make bags Haversacks, Fleeting Quivers, etc seem to be holding ground or even going up in price. Personally I've started charging more for them since I've gotten more just by auctioning. Just when I auction I hate waiting for a buyer at 6.5k and 3.5k respectively. They sell slower but what do I care I'm asleep!

I made a half dozen handmade backpacks this weekend and have the tokens up for sale 75pp each... no sale. I think our bag market is dropping. I never bothered auctioning bags, so thought this would be a great way to use those HQ bear pelts I keep finding on merchants... Maybe not.

Since Stromm received the patch (server load and stability issues aside), I believe prices have gone *up* on handmade backpacks. Mine usually sell within the first 5 minutes of me being in trader mode.

I am keeping my Haversacks at 6k and have sold 12 in the last 2 days. Still too soon to tell. I don't normally have that many bags at once to sell. Normal is one or two a week.

Why should anyone bother to buy the Handmade Backpacks when they can buy Deluxe Toolboxes for 5 or something pp in PoK which can even hold Giant items ??

I like to be able to yank bags of stuff from the bank and carry them around if need be with minimal encumbrance. Particularly handy when doing complicted, multi-item quests or recipes. Make em all handmade backpacks (except for those pesky quest containers) and then I never have to worry about having those sorts of things in readily portable containers.

Lemming Fur Backpacks are 10 slot giant and 25% WR. Wonder how they are selling.

                      Up

I'm selling Haversacks for actually more then pre-token.

I stopped completely from running around auction them. I sell alittle less... but make more in profit. So it's actually alot easier for me. Especially since I dont have to go hunting around for more tufts and BDs getting harder and harder to come by cheap now.

So... overall, there's still a few people running around /auctioning to sell them at pre-token prices. If they love to do the combines, GL to them. Im not in it for the competition of selling the most. You cannot buy anything outside toys once you hit the raid targets.

When weight is a concern, Handmade Backpacks trump Deluxe tooboxes.

                        Handmade backpack
                        WT 3
                        Size: Large
                        WR: 10%

                        Deluxe Toolboxes
                        WT 3.5
                        Size: Giant
                        WR: 0%

While the handmade can't hold Giant, it has 0.5 less base weight (which is WT4 if you use eight), and a 10% savings on item weight. Its small, a lot less than lemming fur, evil eye, haversacks and whatnot, but its not insignificant.

I use Deluxe Toolboxes in the bank, where weight doesn't matter and non-Giant containers are really annoying, but I've had handmades on me for a long time. I only finally replaced the last 4 on my main with Lemming Fur last week - the handmades got passed down to alt casters, who are extremely weight constrained and Handmade backpacks are an "upgrade" from standard backpacks/Deluxe toolboxes.

Because toolboxes have the most ungodly-loud and irritating opening sound in the history of EQ, that's why.

Dang, I'd pay double the cost of a tinker bag for a backpack that opens with only the softest of hisses, just barely loud enough for you to hear it.

On e`ci, the typing range of auctioned prices was 50pp-80pp, mostly 60pp. I tended to only sell when iw as lurking in the bazaar and saw a WTB - I would sell at 80pp.

Now there are multiple suppliers at 45pp. Which is still a nice mark up, as HQ Rockhopper sells for 20pp or so, whic is not bad for a 2 item combine where you can buy the pattern right int he bazaar.

Lemming fur bags are offered at 400-450pp or so, Haversacks seem to be sticking at the customary 6K. The tink bag will continue to discipline the haversack market I think - I am waiting for an entrepreneurial person to go buy 8 tink bags and token them and sell for 5.5K. If Haversacks ever rise too high in price, I am sure it will happen.

I am thinking about tokenizing a bunch of backbacks just ot have quick powder bag mix. Each alt can have a few and be able to "tailor" up a bag whenever needed by popping to the bazaar.

HQ Rockhopper Hides seem tohave doubled or trippled in price on Innoruuk since the patch. They were 20p before. They are 50p or more now. And somebody is selling backpacks for 60p, so I'm not going to be making any myself any time soon.
