Hypothetical example. You make a ring. It costs you 1PP for the bar of metal and 1PP for the gem. You do the comebine, and have an Enchanted Ring of Nolrog. You should not be able to sell that ring back to a merchant for 5PP. That was the case in some tradeskill combines. Some people created a macro, that would run while they were away. It would buy the metal (enchant it) and gem, pick one of each up, put it into the jewelers kit, combine them, and then sell it back to the merchant. Just think if your computer would do this say 10 times a minute for 40 hours straight. That would be 10 times/minute x 60 minutes/ hour x 40 hours = 24000 times in that 40 hours, times the 3pp profit for each, and you've made 72K, and you were at work, or doing something else. That's why there is so much PP floating around right now. Some scumbags found this, and exploited it severely! Prices on Drinal have jumped by like 100% in recent weeks. SoE reviewed their logs and stuff, and banned many hundreds of people for exploiting this.

This does not affect the typical tradeskiller, with carpal tunnel, who sat at his computer for 5 hours doing combines, and got the 3pp profit on say 40 of them before he moved up to the next harder thing to make.

No, you misunderstood my comment. That part was clear. It's the second half of that paragraph that is unclear to me.

However, they will still sell those products for the same amount.
Does that mean the merchant's selling price of a crafted item is unchanged or have all selling prices been reset to be exactly equal to the price the merchant pays a tradeskiller for that crafted item.

I'm guessing that the merchant's price to sell a crafted item from their inventory was not changed in this patch.

The LoY tinkered Geerlok devices could be sold to a merchant for about the cost of materials. But the merchant price to buy one was several hundred plats, which made tinkers happy because players couldn't pick up cheap LoY Geerloks dumped on merchants like they could with the older Geerlok devices.

I think they mean the vendor sale prices have been unchanged, so that the enchanted silver pepperoni bracelet that used to cost 2 pp to make, sold to a vendor for 5pp, and you could buy off him for 7 pp, now costs 2pp to make, sells to a vendor for 1 pp, but still costs 7 pp to buy back from the merchant.

Update on the Phylactery, it is still clickable from inventory at this time. Since I expect very few people of any class will wear it, this change has little effect at this time.

If there is a continuation of this quest as has been suggested elsewhere, this might indicate that only casters and priests need bother, but there is pure speculation and any further discussion of it would be better suited to the quests requiring tradeskills forum.

                What about cultural kits.

I know the market isn't huge for them, but what about things like teh Fier'dal Fletching kit that has to be smithed? I wonder if they were overlooked since not WR.

You know.. this may sound bad but.. this just made my day.

Fixed a problem with short-duration pets (Rage of Zomm, cleric hammers, wizard flaming swords and such) so that they will no longer dissipate before engaging the target NPC.

YES! wait.. no.. I'll have to name it something other than poofy

That and the melee changes (I didnt try them on test) might get me to play my monk more..

Glad they fixed the recipies that could be used to exploit.. but jees.. couldnt they find another way besides nerfing ALL tradeskill sell-back prices? More just nitpicky, I see it as a good change, though prices on items will need adjusting.

Only downside to today's patch for me (since I dont play a bard or another melee/hybrid), is the slicing of lull timers. Le sigh, I guess no one's going to let me pull.

Gonna have to try handing her one of the trophy made bags then . . .

Not impressed with the nerfing of stamina effects. SoW potions? Never knew they had that effect over 3 years playing. Its a bit like tje crafted 10 slot bags with 10% wt red, very few knew it was there until they pointed it out.

The armour with zing though is another thing. A WE Ranger with a zing item is going to find the new UV effect worthless, why on earth couldnt they at least give it a useful effect if they had to get rid of zing?

Rogues that need UV will have the Mykolars Helm or another item. A Ykesha type click effect would have been a good alternative.

                            my little question...

If you farm your own fine steel, you can make an approx 4p profit on ornate chain combines. Did they simply ensure that the price to sell to the vendor is less than the storebought components? or have ALL items taken a Cultural Needle Nosedive?

I'm all for stopping bad people. Why good people have to be hurt in the process... /sigh.

The core of the problem is that they've been mucking around with the prices that vendors SELL tradeskill ingredients, and changing them little by little. I don't know if this is the result of a bug or the start of a systematic change. Either way, it's wreaking havoc with sellback prices when you use those various components in tradeskills.

It wouldn't be a problem if they changed ALL prices, both buying and selling, in one patch. Instead, they're going with this piecemeal, item-by-item change that's leading to dozens of macro opportunities for the unscrupulous and lots of ill will on the part of honest tradeskillers.

Blood of the Wolf is the SoW potion. It also had a stamina-regen effect. Instead of a stamina effect, it now has a vision enhancer. I see little reason to be disappointed - nobody really noticed the stamina regen anyway.
The potion that was changed was Potion Of Wolves Blood, not Blood Of The Wolf. There has never been any stamina regen associated with Blood of the Wolf, using it is just like casting SoW on yourself.
