Has anyone noticed a significant decrease in Blue Diamond drops lately? Maybe I am really unlucky, but I used to be able to find about 600 blue diamonds on vendors at will, but made a trip checking every vendor in Tranq, PoK, Every Druid Ring, Every Wayfarer Camp last night and found a grand total of 1 blue diamond. I realize the vendor mining nerf affected this, but still that is gross for so many vendors to get 1 BD. Has anyone noticed a lower drop rate, or was I just unlucky?

I have also noticed the drop in Blue Diamond availability.
Also BDs are up to 400pp+ in the bazaar.
They still drop in PoP zones and such.
Just don't know where they are going.
But definetely less of them.Last edited by BuilderOfCastles; 12-16-2003, 12:59 AM.Marriel on Fennin Ro

Many people have shifted focus from PoP to LDoN. So fewer BDs are being looted in PoP. This could impact their availability on PoP vendors.

I've seen very few LDoN missions at 65 without at least one BD drop - in fact, when I need to buy BDs I normally check LDoN merchants first. The drop rate on Blue Diamonds is about the same in LDoN missions as it is in PoP zones, so that couldn't be affecting their availability overall.Originally posted by Boleslav

Personally, I suspect it's just that people want to sell and split immediately after each LDoN mission. Since vendor inventory no longer exists except for what's visible and many non-tradeskillers can't be bothered saving them anymore since the drop in the relative value of cultural armor, most of the BDs that drop in LDoN simply disappear.Grimgrey Dorfeater

They nerfed the gem drop off bugs in sebilis, hence a lot less BDs in circulation. The nerf was a couple weeks ago.Tinile, 85th Druid of the Seventh Hammer

My solution to this is I've asked the guild raid looters to save any BD's we get on raids and sell them to me instead of vendorizing them, same price.
I also buy whatever BD's drop LDON groups (I'm usually the looter, so I just add some of money to the split).
Other than that, checking all the usual merchants the night after a patch, when the vendors aren't too full yet. But yeah, I've noticed the price go back up to 400pp each as well in the bazaar.

I just got to the point where -attempting- my gnome cultural armor is viable, and I need 3 BDs for each piece. The price on stromm is already 600+ for BDs in the bazaar with resellers pushing it to 800. *sigh*
I guess I'll scrimp and I'll save and wait to do attempts until I peg my skill level as high as it'll go."Why!?", screamed the man. "Why is it, that after all my time, effort and skill, do you offer me less than 1/20th the purchase price of just the beans I put into this casserole?"
"Because", said the Vendor, "You can't unbake a bean."
Thus the man achieved enlightenment... and became a farmer.
