While we're on the topic of Blue Diamonds, did I miss some recent big item that was discovered that uses them or something? A couple weeks ago BDs could be found on more vendors than sold water flasks. The going bazaar price on Fennin was 230-250pp. In just the last couple weeks bazaar BD prices have shot up to rarely less than 430-450pp each. Did I miss something? Usually prices on ingredient items only raise that drastically that quickly when a new high demand tradeskill item hits the scene.

Or I'm imagining things and it is all just normal market flux.

Maybe the price increase is linked to the exploit that allowed massive amounts of platinum to be generated very quickly. More plat in circulation = increased prices, since one plat is "worth" less and less.

Just a maybe. If that's the case, the price will come down again in the next few weeks.

Could be that someone has discovered that you can sell the bd's to the vendor for about 268p with good charm. Easy cash. Buy from the bazaar at 250p. Immediately resell to the npc vendors in the bazaar for 268p. I'm not 100 percent sure about the vendor buy price so I'll double check it.

If you want to farm BDs, do it on Dulak boats. Stormwave and Dirulia doesn't drop BDs but the other 3 boats do. I average 1 per hour of non stop killing. The mobs are easy.

Blue Diamonds sell to NPC merchants for 238pp

you can buy them from NPC merchants for 262pp

I just wandered throught he POTranquillity merchants and half of them had Blue Diamonds in their inventory. Now I only buy when they dip below 262pp in the bazaar (which happens often enough to keep one bag full or nearly full. i go through a LOT of them for smithing).

we do get them in LDON groups and all those other places folks mentioned, and yes, i do buy them from the group at 238pp each. just haven't worried about getting enough of them in quite some time, due to the stock on NPC's in POT and POK.

You can get a small group killing mobs in the newly revamped Hate plane. There is a lot of middling to good armor that drops there for various classes. If you get any armor you cannot use (it's all nodrop), you can turn the armor into the appropriate guild master on PoK for experience and a gem reward. I have been there the last couple levels with my cleric Milletoux, who at 57 turned in three such pieces. She got almost a blue and a half of AA experience, one blue diamond and two diamonds.

Not a huge return, but very good xp and some other nice drops. Plus, she also got her stuff for her first quest gem there, which can turn from a nice into an excellent range item as she improves it.

I spent a LOT of time on the Dirulia boat in Dulak camping the captain for his ring for a friend of mine. The pirates on that boat do indeed drop blue diamonds, as well as regular diamonds.

                    I seed the vendors.

Buy out one item completely... then toss a blue diamond on it. So it fills up that one spot.

From that point on... all blue diamonds sold to that vendor gets stacked. Come back in a day.. and buy it all back.

Long as nobody buys it before you. Put them on the popular vendors. Ldon magus, bazaar bag merchant... etc.

I think of it this way. You sell for ~230pp, but for ~260. 30pp investment per vendor. That's less then the difference of buying for 300pp in bazaar. If you get a single diamond, you made up what it would cost you from buying them out and reselling that one.

I've always been able to vendor 300-400+ BDs in a weeks time doing that. So it's definally the easiest way to mass BDs.

BTW... SOE DEVS.. if you want a tiny plat sink.. increase the vendor item limit. If more stuff there, more people might be willing to buy stuff from them that others sells to. It will start eating away at the servers plat. What's a better way to take plat out of the system then to let others spend their plat on stuff on vendors. I know I would buy up BDs like crazy. There's enough farmers that would. Pelts, silks... whatever. That's how real world works, the vendor buys for X... but sells at a profit for them, hense less plat in the world.

Make vendor sold potions powerful enoughf or the cost they charge and a lot of people will start buying those.

Much of the Blue Diamond price problem on Fennin comes from a few traders pouncing on Bazaar BDs at the normal 250-300P prices and reselling them at 500P and up. Beating these resellers to a reasonably priced BD is like camping a rare spawn. The same little mafia did that with Jacinths and Black Sapphires a couple of months ago, before the drop rate on those two gems was increased with LDoN. LDoN habits have changed things too-- parties tend to choose a "master looter" who vendors everything at the end of the raid, BDs included, and splits the cash.

Vendor NPCs should have 120 slots instead of 80, which would help a bit, but BD drop rates need to be increased as well.
