  • Blue Diamonds for broke people...

    Hello there!

On my to-do list is "get my skill up to fletch an Eternal Tempest Compound Bow. I expect to spend all my money getting my skill up so I probably won't have any funds to buy blue diamonds...

I was wondering about the best way(s) to get them by myself. I found a few quests (like this one) that sound easy and have BD as a *possible* reward, but I'd like to have the opinion of experienced tradeskillers on this. Is Ulthork hunting worth my time?

Do BDs drop in first tier planes?

I've picked up an awful lot of gems in LDoN... Will I eventually run into a BD? (I'm level 50, if that matters...)

    Thanks a bunch!

ETA: I did a quick search with "blue diamonds" but didn't find the answers I was looking for... I apologize if you're being asked that question way too often.

Blue diamonds are pretty cheap these days. You can frequently find them on vendors for about 250plat. You can find them pretty cheap in bazaar too, if you watch the prices.

As far as drops, I'm sure there is a list of dropped places in the database. I know they drop in sebilis, dulak, planes of hate and fear randomly, plane of nightmare off werewolves and some of the other mobs not near the zone in, plus some of the other lower planes like justice, etc.

Not sure what class (assuming ranger) or level you are, so tough to say what you can do solo. But I wouldn't bother killing ulthorks solely to get blue diamonds, you will be killing ulthorks til 2020. If you are of the level to get exp off them or need them for some other reason, go for it then.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know they had dropped in prices so much!

I tried to find a list of places they drop on eqtraders but couldn't. Could you point me in the right direction? ETA: Oh wait, I just understood you meant Allak's database. *slaps self*

Oh, and has anybody run into one in LDoN? I just got that expansion and am planning to spend a fair bit of time in it to upgrade some of my gear...

        Thanks!

Get a group and kill stalkers in PoN. They drop Peridots, Lupine claws/fangs, coarse clumps of fur, Diamonds, Raw D's, and BD's. Also drop varoius research stuff. BD's are about 1 in 30 kills, and a solid group of level 50's can easily do stalkers if you can single pull them. I swarm them on my bard for BD's and other stuff to sell to make a quick buck.

I've had LDoN groups get up to 3 (or as few as none) but they've been 60+ groups. I don't know if they still drop around 50 or not.

You can get the occasional blue diamond off the boats in Gunthak, and other various LoY areas.

I've had good luck checking all the vendors in LDoN camps (including WC tunnel merchantes), and some PoT vendors. The best time seems to be soon after server resets. After a few days, the vendors have nothing but junk, so any BDs that come in later just go poof.

I make a point to buy any BDs off of groups or raids I'm with.

I've been seeing blue diamonds drop in LDoN on an uncommon basis (a few each adventure) since it opened and I was around level 55. The drop rate has increased with the post 60 groups I've been doing lately, but they dropped earlier for sure.

If that's the place you're mostly hunting, you'll find them there.

Saw a BD drop in a mid 30s Ldon group last night. Also quite common as things go in dulak off of wandering mobs. Check the venders in POT most will have some for sale. On the Rathe going rate in bazaar is 300p or so.

Just this morning I had a BD drop off a shimmering geo in WL, along with its no-drop gem. I've killed hundreds of them (my faction bottomed out long ago) and had never seen this before, so I don't know if it's new or not. Well, rephrase that, it's new to me but may or may not be new to others.

OK, I'm in a bit of a BD crisis. I need two-three *stacks* of blue diamonds in a hurry.

The bazaar is cleaned out; all that's left is a few for prices approaching 1K. I've been run out of PoK for spamming my auction message. I'm on a first-name basis with the LDoN magus-vendors, and I would be with the SH vendors too, if not for the fact that SH is abandoned.

I'm willing to farm or to drop some cash to acquire BD's. Any suggestions on how I can get a couple of stacks of them in a few days?

As I posted earlier in topic, BD's are frequent enough drop in PoN off stalkers to make it worth your time. Magelo is down so I can't tell, but judging by your sig and name, I would presume that you have/are a 55+ ranger or druid, in which case stalkers are pie for you. My last time there, I spent 3 hours walked off with 2800 in gems and 6-7 BD's that I held on to.
