Ive narrowed down what im going to GM to two tradeskills: Baking or Brewing. Im not quit sure which im going to do, because Brewing has a lot of thing you can make besides beer and Ale, (Tempers, Tannins, Drinks....) but baking has only food, and the subcombines to make food. Either way, i like both just the same, im not sure whether to make MTPs and Halas 10, or GLM and QAT.

Well that depends on how you want to lose your hair.....Lewena's Ale or Hot Sauce? (Or like some people, both)
Ok seriously,
This is solely your decision, you are right about the tanins and tempers, but most(all?) trivial well before the grandmaster level of 250. Brewing is cheaper to get up and a little less annoying if you aren't farming for baking(the MTPs have a lot of subcombines). Either way the benefit of both at grandmaster is about the same, stat food versus stat drinks.... I would take it from either a personal or roleplay stanceEither you choose, have fun with it!

dwarf definetly go brewing. halfling you should bake. i had the same decision and went for baking because i enjoy it more and the food has more variety than the drinks. brewing is easier to gm because its storebought but if you xp/farm in the planes you could prolly get enough to cook in a session to neer realize you were grinding tradeskills. just do what you have at the end of the session and viola. more ppl gm brewing because its cheap and easy. baking is a little more elite. once i get aa i planning on brewing next then jc. enjoy.

PHABOS. I'm looking at this time stamp and thinking, 'you're supposed to be in class right now...'
hehe.
What do you mean, 'baking has only food'???? Baking is all about the food! Just think, no more dry Iron Rations. I mean, that's gotta be like gnawing on a piece of metal-y bread, for real. I'd take batwing crunchies cereal (I so wish that were in game, too... Batwing Crunchies + Milk in Mixing Bowl = Batwing Crunchies Cereal, both a food and a drink, but only the duration of a snack/whistle wetter) over iron rations any day. Rabbit soup, veggie soup. Berry Pie? Pound Cake? Birthday/Wedding Cake? For Piff's one-year-of-playing-EQ day, I wanted to get her whole guild together and hand out Birthday Cake Slices, and then go ONE, TWO, THREE, and everyone right click it and eat it all at once. mwahhaha. would have been fun.
Brewing is fun too. Alcohol, heh. I just wish it were easier to raise skill by making non-alcoholic drinks, things I can put in the tops of bags and actually DRINK, not just malted milk. All the non-als take foraged parts or drops. /shrug. Hey Brodder, where be yeh when I need yeh? heheh.
And dude, you are SO totally on tarew. we must xp sometime, k? ^_^
In all honesty... do whichever one you like more. Do whichever one you hate less. They both have their plusses. They both have drawbacks (HMP are heavy, MTPs will always fail a lot, brewing is pretty much 'just' alcohol). As long as you're having fun, that's really all that matters. ^_^

Looks like im going baking....Brewing is still profitable BEFORE 200, while the real rewards in baking come at 250. Plus, i enjoy baking. I was having fun making Sandwiches (triv a long time ago) while killing wolves and using a stack of bread i happened to have.Kemdaen

You can master them both at the same time. You can get your brewing up to 131 for about 10pp (probably less.) Combine 1 fishing grub and 1 water flask in a brew barrel to make fetid essence. You can buy unlimited supplies of each in the PoK. For baking, do fish rolls: 1 batwing and 1 fresh fish. Trivial is around 130 as well. You can buy unlimited amounts of each in Freeport (fresh fish at the docks, and batwings at the academy of arcane sciences.) Baking gets a tad bit more expensive then. Patty melts, 1 wolf/bear meat, 1 loaf of bread, 1 cheese (available in JPF only) and a non-stick frying pan. That will take you to 191. There's probably a cheaper way to go, but for me, I went with fast rather than cheap.

fetid esscense is trivial at 122.
fish rolls at 135
that is the cheapest no-loot way to do it.
shar vhal esscense uses ground spawn payala fruit. takes you to 187. main site has locs of payala fruit.

B vs. B
I'm 250 in Baking and 200 in Brewing, I don't regret my choice, but I've made a ton more plat with Brewing than Baking, it just depends on what your goal is.
Being a 59 Druid opens up a lot of Foraging opportunities for me such as Tea Leaves in East Karana. I honestly can't tell you how many thousands of plat I've made on Qeynos Afternoon Teas. MTP's have *far* too many subcombines as somebody noted, for me to ever seriously make them for sale.
Again, it just depends on why you're getting any skill up; is it for the love of tradeskills or are you trying to make money?

do both, i would suggest do baker first bacouse their is more stat food then drinks and while your raising your baking you can easily raise your brew too 200 and then when your lvl 51 - 65 just spend 3 AA points and be a master in brew too
but its your choice on wich one to pick first
