  • Tradeskill confusion

I'm a little confused in the message board someone asked in the frequently asked questions if you can take any skill over 200. The answer was yes, but the explanation was a little confusing. It was yes, you take any one basic skill to over 200. So, really the answer is no right?

Maybe it's too early and I didn't read it right or it's Friday and I'm suffering from the week coming to an end burnout.

Also, How does one go about getting their GM in a skill? Also, I noticed that some have GM in several, I thought you could only have one GM. aarrrrgg..okay , now I'm really confused.

Can someone help me out here?
    Thanks

Here we go. As a level 50 and below you can take any one true trade skill to over 200. I define true trade skill as any skill that isn't class or race limited. Here is the list.

    Baking
    Brewing
    Smithing
    Tailoring
    Pottery
    Fletching
    Jewel Craft

Once you hit 51 and have the PoP expansion you can spend 3 AA points in order to be able to raise another one of the listed skills over 200. That is as simple as I can put it.

      Okay. That makes sense.

What about the Grand Master? I see alot of posts about Trophies. Can someone explain that to me? I did a search but couldn't find anything about it.

      Thanks

Grand Master is a player-created term. Some people consider a trade "grand mastered" once it breaks 200 in skill. Others say you can only be considered a grand master once you reach 250. A few consider a trade GMed if they succeed on the trophy. It's really up to you what you consider to be a grand master level. It is because of the AA points described above that some people are able to claim grand mastery in multiple trades. If someone has 250 skill in baking, brewing, and smithing, they may say they are GMs in three trades.

That is exactly what I was looking for =) Thanks that helps alot.

So, basically, in order to break 200 in more than one skill you must put AA's after level 50?
            Thanks

Correct. After you hit L51 you can spend 3 AA for each tradeskill that you want to take over the 200 mark.

New Tanaan Crafting Mastery was actually snuck in a week prior to the release of Planes of Power, so that is not a necessity.
