Greetings everyone,
Just recently got my smithing to 162 and tailoring to 163, and could use some advice.
Going from 155 to 162 in smithing (fine steel visors), I averaged about 1 skill increase per 5 attempts. My strength was 255. I'm very happy with this rate, and the cost. Very few failures with a geerlok, and I'm farming my own padding.
Making ribbons from 158 to 163 I averaged about 1 skill increase per 8.5 attempts, with a wisdom of 235 (with extended KEI) and using a geerlok. Previously, during the Wu's phase (115-158) I had averaged 1 skill increase per 4 attempts at a wisdom of around 204. Not so pleased with the rate of increase on the ribbons.
My question is: what to make of these observations?
Does the 20 point difference between strength (smithing) and wisdom (tailoring) account for the different rates of skill increase?
Bad, or good, stretch on the RNG end?
Do the two tradeskills have different advancement rates (regardless of stats)... wouldn't think so...
My PC is a 54 Barb Shaman... My first thought is to put a halt on tailoring until I can get widsom to 250. I could also drop the geerlok for a +6 increase in wisdom. This should help my skill advancement rate at the penalty of fewer succeses. Any suggestions would be welcome, though the thought of AA points and more levels would probably cause me to leave the game...
