    EQ Live

Think it says it all. Wonder what this means for people with uber gear and 1750, move to newer server and own the whole market? What do you all thin about it?

Hopefully this won't be contrued as a primal scream, but here goes.

I feel this will have little impact overall and my reasons are: Firstly the newest server won't allow any transfers (Stromm), Second you won't be allowed to transfer to a server less the 6 months old, Third when a new server is created from a heavily populated server the oppritunity is already presented for any tradeskiller.

I feel this is more an attempt to spread out the dynamic of the servers to hopefully prevent overcrowding.

On a side note I feel this may make transfers to or from one of the PVP servers interesting. Certainly leveling to 65 andequiping on a PVP server must be different from the "blue" servers.

      /agree x 10,000.
There are zones I've never seen. There are zones I will never see, as long as I play mainly on Sullon. (Look at my sig; all those other chars are on SOME OTHER server). We can start with something as 'mundane' as Marus Seru... and end with Plane of Time. Iroke will never see PoTime. It's something you have to accept.

You learn to keep a running list of names in your head... whom to watch out for in zone, what guild is what alignment, what guilds to run from and what guilds are wussies and any member thereof can be easily pwned. You learn to hate names, fear names, love names, respect names.

You do not play on Sullon because you want to play EQ. You play on Sullon because you want to kill.

PVP is not something you 'casually engage in' here. This is not a duel, this is not even a huge arena. It IS your way of life. You cannot escape it. You learn, you adapt, you get pwned, figure out why, try to CR, get pwned again, scream obscenities in /gu and log till later.

Kei is 100p here. You don't have 100p (or a kei'ing chanter friend who's logged in atm), you don't get kei. Deal, and get a Solstice Earring. The kits go for 11k.

Frankly... given that I'm a member of the Sullon PKing guild that has been around since day 1 of this server... one of my guildies is 'looking forwards to the guy who forgets and goes somewhere with 5k on him... gets pwned and doesn't realize his lunch money is someone else's now.'

It would be a very, very, very .... interesting.... change.

Yes, I'm trying to scare you away from xferring to Sullon. ^_^ Enlightened self-interest. Unless you would end up on the Goodie team, please do not bring your Time keyed EP geared main (first of all, you'll have no one to group with you in Time for a little while), unless you want a fight like you have never wanted a fight before.

Threesaken told Tinkbang, my Tarew gnome chanter: "You're from Sullon? You're surprisingly civil." It's a server full of idiots, bullies, people with too much time on their hands and not enough intelligence in their heads. And people who didn't know what Sullon was when they started playing EQ. (Like me. And my roommate.)

If you want to do long-term PVP, start a character on one of the Zeks. Get to level 20. If you can stand the griefing, then you can consider surviving on a PVP server. You have to enter with the mindset that you will lose 90pct of your total pvp battles, except the first 500, of which you will lose all 100pct.

And if you want to come to Sullon, please please be a goodie. The odds are stacked against you anyway, a little more can't hurt.

Really... PVP is a bigger PITA than you can generally imagine. If the idea even slightly sets you off, don't look at Sullon. Even having said that, if you have questions, do feel free to send me a tell.

I wouldn't be surprised to see populations on the Zek's drop in the near future.

It will fluxuate, that's for sure... some will come, many will go, esp those who realize that no, they're not going to get that Time Key on Sullon, but who are more attached to their EQ chars than to their $RL and willing to trade the other for the one.

In short, them there's a hurricane a'comin, and all servers (sans Test FV and Stromm) are gonna feel it somehow....

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the "hardcore" Zek players make characters on a blue server and once they are "uber" transferring them with gear.

                WELCOME TO STORMHAMMER!

Um, not that we EVER see people come to our server from a zek for 2 months to level and gear up and head back. Honest. None at all. Not even one.
