  • Skill up on NOFAIL (Quest) combine

Thought I'd mention this here, my Shaman did the combine for the 'Pure Blood' quest, which has been set not to be failable for a few months, and got a skill up in Brewing from 0 to 1.

There have been literally thousands of people who have skilled up smithing from 0 to 1 by combining the 9 Earring of the Solstice parts in a forge. =)

Most "no fail" tradeskill combines have a trivial of 15. There may be some with a trivial of 0, but there are no recipes with a trivial of 1-14 and every recipe that is trivial at 15 never fails. This is why I like to give every new character a few stacks of silk to turn into swatches or threads. I may never work that character's skills any higher, but the silks needed to be combined by someone and I might as well get a start on tailoring while I am doing so.

I'm certain my first blacksmithing skill up came making newbie ranger armor in Kelethin, though this is before I had the log on, so I cannot confirm. I think it was when I first realized these tradeskill thingies could be increased except for using (then) precious points at the trainer.
