is it possible to train any points into tradeskills after 100? i ask cos ive got like 50 points and nothing to spend them on but wondered if it was possible to get a few more in my tailoring so i can do the coldain shawl a bit quicker...

you can only put points until 21 in classic tradeskill.

some restricted tradeskill (as research) can be purchase until 200 with points directly

The restriction on the those skills (poison making, research, etc.) are based on your level. It's (level-15)*5, so the first level you can add points (after level 16 when you first get it) is level 19.

With the exception of Alchemy, you cannot use training points on Alchemy beyond 21, unless something has changed since I last tried a very long time ago. I would dearly love to just pay 10 training points and the plat for those last 10 points.

Thanks I was going to say that it would not let me use my extra points in smithing or tailoring. Sal

If you’re a melee class you can use those points to train up an untrained weapon skill. I did that with a couple of my characters with more points than they could spend. I’d train up the first 60 points in 2H slash, for example, making it much faster and easier to max out the skill. Like many skills, weapon skills are level caped. But if you’ve let a skill fall behind and it needs a boots those training points can come in handy.

                    You can train fishing.

He was asking if it was possible not if it was desirable.
and it is possible to put training points into fishing.

i just have to ask. why? the only tradeskill that if done for itself is almost 0 stress. no farming or bazaar hunting.

Because at level 65 everyone has a hundred or so unused training points with nothing whatsoever worthwhile to do with them?
