I am a foraging-addict. I've been called "Bouncy" by friends because when we find a private corner to sit down and talk, I will, at regular intervals, stand up to forage and then sit back down. I not only get a whole lotta stuff I need for my tradeskills (Baking 200, Brewing 188, Fletching 217, Smithing 181, Pottery 143, Tailoring 157, Jewelcraft 180) but I also turn a good profit on some of the foraged items and from some of the items I make with them (ex. Justice Fruit Pies, cost is roughly 4p each for the celestial essences, frosting, milk and dough, but I can sell them quickly and easily for 50p each.)
Things like cockroaches, breadcrumbs, habanero peppers, and cinnamon sticks can be sold for a fairly reasonable price (2-3p each) and can be foraged in great enough quantities to make them profitable. Vegetables I sell for 20p a stack, which is a reasonable price for people who want to brew vodka or make MTPs.
Lately, these profits have all been going to a fund my guild has started. They are sponsoring one person from our guild to GM in each tradeskill, so that they WHOLE guild can benefit from our tradeskiller's services. Anything our skillers can use, I put on the tradeskill mule, and anything they can't, I sell and put the proceeds into the tradeskill fund. We have made over 6k so far this way. Another way I have helped make plat for this fund is by brewing and selling celestial essence. I got the idea from a 65 ranger who hired me to make CE at 7p a vial--and he wanted 2500 vials! He knew he could make it for roughly 1.7p himself, but he said his time was more valuable than that and he had the plat to spare. I was fine with that...he basically funded 5 skillups via mithril arrows for me. Anyhoo, I make the essence and sell it for 5p a vial. Usually, I can sell a satchel full of the stuff in a single day...that's 1000p! I split the proceeds 60/40 with the tradeskill fund, so I recover my expenditure and make a little profit for myself, and make some profit for the tradeskill fund. Heady Kiola and Paeala also sell for a decent profit, though not as quickly as the essence. What also sells well is Coldain Velium Temper. It costs roughly 26p in Thurgadin. I can make it for around 10p. I can sell it for 20p in the bazaar, and save the buyer some plat. Again, I split the take 60/40 with the tradeskill mule to cover my expense making the stuff and make a little profit for myself.
Anyhow, my point (and I do have one...)
Eqtraders has been a GREAT help for me when I forage something new and don't know whether I should keep it for my own use, the guild's use, sell it, or dump it. However, I saw this linked at eqrangers.com and thought it was a pretty nifty thing too. It is by no means as comprehensive or well-organized as the supplies lists here at eqtraders, but it is sort of a one-stop shopping guide for those who might not be certain of where to look in the zone and skill listings for foraged items.

It is obviously still a work in progress, as some of the information is incomplete, and the format is a smidge crude. However, with the appropriate shortcuts and links, it could be very handy for a quick referrence.
One thing this list REALLY brought to my attention, though, was how many items didn't have a purpose, either as food, weapon, stat-giver, tradeskill component, or quest item. I counted at least 65 items which had neither a purpose nor could be consumed (some of these may have been duplicates, since I went straight down the list counting and didnt check how many of them were listed more than once.) I don't know how many macro-button/autoinventory foragers we have here (I suspect A LOT) but I, for one, find these "useless foraged items" to be an extreme nuisance when I have to go through my packs and dump stacks upon stacks of them. And I really have to wonder why they are even there if they have no purpose?
Are these items which SOE had INTENDED to create a use for, then fell through the cracks? Are they put there to challenge us? I really rather wish they weren't there if there is not, and will not be, a use for them. Is this something to feedback to Maddoc about? Or should I just let it be? Have there been any remarks from Maddoc/SOE about these items and their purpose?

My apologies if this has been discussed before...I searched all the fora and couldn't find any mention of this problem.
