  • Destroying items

I looked around here some and did not see anything that would answer my question so here goes!

As a ranger who is always hitting that forage button I am constantly picking up stuff I do not want. i.e. rabbit meat etc, I want to make a destroy button away from my main invnetory window so I do not have to bring up the big window just to destroy an item. I drop when I can but that results in an unwanted trade attempt if any PC or NPC happens to be close. I tried making a button with the obvious /Destroy wording but that does not work. I also cannot click and hold the destroy button to carry it to my hot button window. Any thoughts, suggestions? The no drop forages are the real pain especially when in Jagged where there are more no drop forages then droppable forages it seems.

    Thanks in advance!

they dont want ppl to be able to fast destroy any quicker than they already do. i dont think there is a way. somebody might have the custom ui to do this but i have never seen/heard of it.

ps. i'll take most of your forages.

The destroy button is coded to only work with the inventory window. It doesn't work if you pull it out. Same thing with the auto inventory box (although you can use /autoinventory for that).

There is an option to turn off trades with everyone that might help.

imo a "destroy all" button would be way more useful than this new "link all" button

What a great idea! It'd be nice if the Delete All button would also close the window and kick you out of loot mode. Of course there would be tons of problems with random_jerk_01 getting on a corpse and deleting all the contents, thereby deleting a raid's/person's loot. If they loot it then delete it, GM's can find the records. There'd have to be a way to identify who deleted the corpse.

There used to be a 'destroy all' button. It was the 'combine' button. I was among those that had mixed feelings when they changed that. It was a standard tool for merchant mining at one time.

Man it was great for fast pottery skilling.

You could slap your unfired product right back into the kiln and "combine" it again and be ready to go without having to hunt for the destroy button.

I remember the old combine and lose everything feature. I had a monk, for quite a while, and he used to carry around a medicene bag to hold his lightweight items. I can't tell you how many times I accidently hit combine instead of close. At one point, I lost something reasonably valuable (for a level 35 monk), although that is more a reflection on my stupidity, then anything else. I for one, welcome the "fix" to deal with invalid combines.

My new main is a druid. I just drop foraged items that I don't need. If I have a stack of something that might be useful to someone else, I try to drop it in some newbie zone or the bazaar, where it might be found by someone that can use it.
