  • Tradeskill Questions for FF

What tradeskill questions do you have that you would like to see asked at Fan Faire? I will be there, and hope to attend all of the tradeskill sessions if possible. I don't know how easy it'll be to get these answered, but I'm willing to try!

Also, if you'll be going to FF yourself, watch for the weirdo in the polar bear hat. That'll be me! Come say hi!

    My own questions so far:

    1. Given that mudflation drives down the value of almost all old equipment, are there plans to continue adding new high end items to keep tradeskills profitable?

    2. Any plans to expand imbued gear to cover all race/class/diety combinations? (I am prepared to beg if necessary.)

    3. Any plans for more quests like the Prayer Shawls and Solstice Earring that involve extensive tradeskills? Any that can be done without uberguild membership?

    4. Since LDoN alchemy requires foraging and currently only iksar shaman can forage, any possibility of getting an alternate source (drops?) or adding an innate low level foraging ability for all shaman?

    5. Any plans for an ultimate trophy for those who have GMed all 7 primary tradeskills, or some other such reward?

Ask them to think about a special tradeskill-only augment slot (and maybe make it so that a hand-crafted item can remain dropable).

      How about:

Are there going to be recipes to create Augments? Whether that is JC, Smithing, Brewing... or a combination of skills (one after another)?

Are there going to be recipes to create Charms?

Well, I guess my big, vague question is, "What will we see change with tradeskills in the next couple of months?"

Perhaps followed with, "Will augments be tied in with tradeskills in any shape or form such as player made droppable augs that only work on tradeskill made items?" So much potential behind this that I'm disappointed there are no tradeskill made augs.

I guess one more thing I'd like to know is if they are ever planning on adding anything big and new to tradeskills such as higher caps, the "advanced tradeskills" Yakatizma talked about a couple years ago or new skills. It's been 4 years, it would be nice to see something different.

Anyhow, have fun at Fan Faire and make sure you send me a picture of your hat.

I would like to see a new bag for each skill I GM instead of one for all.

(small note, not trying to derail the thread. Please nerf this post if you want).
I think the reason for having no dropable augmentations is that people without LDoN could use augmentations if they were droppable. It's probably too hard to code the Augmentation sealer to only work when you have LDoN enabled, and even then it could still cause problems as people would be augmentations they cant use.
And if I am right with that theory, there won't be any playermade augmentations nor will there be any augmented, playermade, tradeable armor.

I like the idea of a special tradeskill augmentation slot though.

<Pet Rant>What about "Why does old (non-BD) erudite cultural still needing 4 rubies per combine?"</Pet Rant>

On a more serious note, there are some LDoN issues that I'd like to see answered - namely what's all the tradeskill-tagged stuff with no know use actually used for (lemming fur, nightshade, etc); are there other tradeskill books that should have been added in that aren't?
Second LDoN issue is why is the forage rate for ingredients much, much higher than the drop rate?

what about combining all seven current trophies in a forge (no fail) for a +15% all tradeskills trophy with +25 all stats and saves? ultimate grandmaster trophy? Grandmaster portable toolkit?

Why not a seperate bag for each trophy?

Why no trophy for reaserach like there is for other class only tradeskills? (alchemy and poison making)

can us sol ro followers get some robe or stave combines like with Karana fletchers? all races just sol ro restricted.

can we get a recipe to give one extra slot to an item through tradeskill? smithing for plate stuff tailor for robes.

would love a tradeskill recipe for at least +1,2,3,4,5% aug to the tradeskill. triv 200 for the 5% one. a smith could make a smithing augment, tailors make the tailoring one, ect.

more long lasting drinks before 200. i want to brew something with similar duration and triv as pattymelts. (have a lot of patty melts)

Why does erudite culture have to be so expensive? blue diamonds or 4 rubies? that's a real choice.

would love for player made augs to work and be droppable with player made stuff. easy way to upgrade our stuff to compete with the newer drops. helps us out with mudflation too. can you lv restrict aug to make them droppable and not twinkie them?

Are trophies (or other bonuses) broken

I'd like to hear a confirmation that there is nothing wrong with making items with 250 skill and a geerlok or trophy equipped.

I'd like a final word on what is going on with JCM AA.

Oh, and if they are ever going to change the blessed steel arrowhead recipe to return the file :-)

Will there ever be brewed equivalents to the PoP baking recipes(+15 to a single stat, +30 HP or MANA for example)?

Can you give us any additional hints on the direction to pursue for Brodder's Revenge?

Is it possible there are tradeskill combines that haven't been discovered yet.
(IE, with LDoN ... tailoring recipes with items that aren't flagged as tradeskill...like rujarkian orc hides, etc)
I seem to remember them saying something somewhere about not all items being flagged.

On the tradeskills trophy question, getting +15% is useless if you're GM skilled. Hard cap is 252, 250+15% is still going to cap you at 252. Waste of a reward. Bigger is not always better, especially in the case of skill bonuses.

                            I don't imagine they'll answer these, but it's worth a shot.

                            1) Is there a hard cap on how high your tradeskills can go with modifiers? If so, what is the cap?

                            2) Is it true that there is a greater chance of a skillup on a successful non-trivial combine than on a failed one?

                            3) If there is a cap, do they plan to remove it or provide alternate methods of bypassing it? (Think JCM-like skills for other tradeskills and classes.)

                            4) How in the world does slaughtering the servants of the gods make you a better jeweler? In other words, why is JCM based on AA's?

I'll probably think of a few more later on.

Why does Grimel still require flags even though bor whatshisname in PoT does not. You would think that if grimel needed something crafted raw 250 would be useful to him even if you don't kill gods regularly
