  • LDoN thought on fishing & baking

Since this touches on two skills, Baking and Fishing, I couldn’t choose which forum to put it in.

    Just a thought/concern….

If these new baking recipes use fish that are fished in the new dungeons….

Do the devs really expect people will be fishing during an adventure that has a 90 minute time-limit? I can just imagine the conversation…

An_LdoN_group_01: “Mae, what’s with the fishing pole?”

Me: “Well, I thought I’d do a little fishing while we’re there, I really want to try the new baking recipes…”

An_LdoN_group_01 /glares and /disbands you from the group and shouts “Dungeon group looking for one more, no fishermen allowed!”

Why couldn't you just take 6 people in on a fishing trip and ignore the mission?

Well, you get an extra 30mins after the adventure to do whatever you like in the dungeon. You could just tell your group that you want to do some fishing after the adventure.

Either that or you could find 3 more bakers to take up an adventure and go fishing with you! :P

Oh yes, you can go in and deliberately ignore the mission (although you will still ned to clear to wherever the fishing pool is), but….

Do failures negatively affect you Wayfarers Brotherhood faction or standing in their Favor Journal?

            Hypothetical example:

Say I have 510 points from 10 successful missions. Now, the more mission you succeed in, the more items become available for purchase, the more favor you gain with the WFB.

By deliberately failing, I won’t earn any new points, and I presume I won’t lose any of my unspent points…however, do failures cost you ‘favor’ or faction with wfb, thus removing access to better items sold by adventure merchants?

If the only penalty is your status on the leader boards, no problem (except that if ever LFG some people may use your status on the leader boards to judge if you’d be a good group member, I suppose.)

            ~ ~ ~

It would be nice if they created Tradeskill Adventures/Missions. No plat, no xp, no points . but allows you to zone in and fish, forage and maybe gather a less, limited # of groundspawned components that are normally mob dropped (like ice lichen, goblin bones, etc)

Or an example of a possible mission that would net you points would be to gather items a, b,c and craft item x within the time limit…

As far as I know, it'd just penalize you on the leader board and then you couldn't brag about how you were Queen of the Orcs or something like that.

Or an example of a possible mission that would net you points would be to gather items a, b,c and craft item x within the time limit…

              Ooooohhh.. that'd be fun.

THERE IS NO FISHING IN THE NEW DUNGEONS.

                You can't. Very little water.

ALL OF THE RECIPES USE OLD FISH. Check the fishing table, on EQTC, and then notice that you need to Fish in Crushbone (Yes, CB), Innothule, and Nurga.

                  lol

Well, since I really am not deep into fishing, I haven't memorized all the zone-specific fishies. New expansion, so I thought new recipies using fish = new fishies in the new zones ... oops!

Thanks for pointing that out so....enthusiastically, Lilosh

Too bad. Wouldn't it be fun if a mission was to clear the way to an underground pool and return with 20 Mistmoore Koi?

hmm.... very little water you say?

That means there must be -some- water, right? How deep is it? How far in?

I'm sure as hell gonna try, even if I get fresh fish heh.

In Rujarkian Hills, I think, deeeeep in one of the zones (Sorry, forget which) there is a small stream. I did NOT fall into it and have the devil's own time getting out. And my groupmates did NOT laugh hysterically at me.

And sorry for the caps, But I'd been explaining that to people (Who didn't believe me) for a while In game, then came here... And I didn't mean to shout. it was meant for Emphasis.

At least one of the "Tak" (NRo) zones has a stream deep enough for swimming (did it) and a smallish pond in which is located a very cool statue/fountain.

We were very pressed for time so I wasn't able to fire up the ol' Fisherman's Companion, but next time....

After a little research, I was able to find all fish except one on the EQTC list. Did I miss it, or does anyone know where Eyeless Whitefish is from?

                            Thanks!
