I got to thinking about this as i seen another locked sig test, and realized that many people might not know of the really neat feture that comes with these boards (one that even suprised me).
Signature tests. They take up room, are kinda annoyingly clutered, and are against the rules. HOWEVER...
Once you make a post to a thread, your signature is included there. What this board does (try it, it's neat!) is, when someone accesses the thread, it goes in and retrieves your "current" signature when the old message text is retrieved.
What does that mean? It means, after you update your signature, ALL of your prior postings will show your NEW signature.
Sig tests, as a thread of their own, simply don't need to exist. Just update your signature, then go back and check one of your old postings
Now, i know that was poorly written for an FAQ addition as is... but someone without as much coffee, and much more sleep than i've had certainly can write it better. It's something i don't think some people realize (newer people especially), and it's a pretty cool feature.
If this were to be added to the FAQ or rules section where sig tests are mentioned, that should solve some peoples tensions on how thier sigs look.
