  • Tradeskill raising.....

Ok, well I have begun to work my way to get the 8th shawl, and there are a few skills I am gonna need to work on a good bit to get there. Tailoring is one of them, my skill atm is 36. I noticed the recipe for quivers is only a HQ cat pelt and quiver patter and goes to 115, if I started these at 36 will I still get skills ups regularly, or should I start with something in the same area of 36 such as studded armor??? Thank you

I definitely suggest doing at least the studded and reinforced masks. Save all the HQ pelts for later to avoid screaming in frustration due to the lack of HQ pelts. You never realize how 'relatively' rare they are until you want 300 or so for skill-ups. ;-)

if you're decently high level (I was 60ish when I did it) do greyhopper armor. Go to mara seru and kill all the greyhoppers you can find, hopper hide + boot pattern = 95 trivial I think.
Also if you're on the rich side try combining two mandrake roots(merchant bought alchemy supply). to make woven mandrake Each goes for about 1pp each and the result + steel boning = picnic basket which trivials a bit higher than woven mandrake.

High Quality cat skins are actually the most common of the high quality skin types (old world at least, haven't compared to rockhopper ihdes). Since you need HQ pelts for reinforced armor anyways, you're not going to be saving much time there, although I do generally recommend skilling up with the closest possible trival. I would recommend doing studded, and possibly hopper hide (never tried that .... was already past quivers by the time Kunark came out).

          Studded to 56
          Cured silk masks to 82
          Rockhopper armor to 95
          Quivers to 115
          Crystalline Silk to 131
          Wu's Armor to 158

Or, you can do what I did and just level all your alts through Mera Seru and level up to 95 just on hopper hide armor. (what I would recommend)

There are many optional paths you can take. Just choose one and blast through it! Good luck!

For tailoring, best bet, is to do what combines you scrounge up materials for. Do the lower trivial ones first.

If you don't mind spending the money, look into Woven Mandrake, and the Picnic Baskets.

              I did:

              Swatches to 15
              Patchwork to 26
Then a long string of Madrake Root to 66
              Picnic Baskets to 72
Rockhopper armor to 95 (note that the shoes are a 1 hide combine that can do the 88->95 zone, someone (mis-)guided me to pants at first)
Then I jumped right to Crystalline Silk to 131, skipping the quiver step. I am happy with this decision, as the making of containers is annoying. Also much of this can be done with 1 swatch combines as well, until the last 7 points or so.
              Then Wu's Armor to 158.

Next step for me is LoY ribbons.

To tell the truth, what I did was start combining the threads for the fifth shawl, that will get you to 56, then I used the crystalline silks I collected to get me to lvl 135. Was not a big problem. Sal
