Wis/Int is important past 255?

It has never been proven conclusively whether stats above 255 have any effect on tradeskills.

Sorry to say it but basically, no one knows.

I specifically asked the developers at a fan faire this question and they said definitely that stats above 255 DOES have effect on skill ups. This is directly from the guy who is in charge of tradeskills. Also, personal experience tells me that it has effect. My skill ups have been much faster at 320 wis than at 255 wis. Please check the posts from the pasts via search since this question has been answered many times in the past, specially by me.

Virtually everyone agrees(who actually HAS real experience and higher stats than 255 in the first place :P ) that getting the relevant stats over 255 matters.

I have had 330 INT for most of my post 200 skillup runs. Comparing my skillup rate with people at 280 int it seems the "1 skillup per 20 combines on average" holds true.

However, I have had much less hell levels than a lot of people here have had. So having high INT/WIS may be helpful in that way (ie not improve skillup rate but reduce chance of hell level).

It may also be because I generally do huge runs (batches of 200+ combines) and that the randomness smoothes out. I dont know.

I can't seem to get my INT over 265. I add +INT items but it won't go above 265. Do you have to do something special to get your INT to the 330 level?

Stats are capped at 255 for all lvl 60 or less characters.
Cap increase by five for each lvl after 61, so cap is 280 for a lvl 65.
Then with some aa, you can raise cap up to 355.
Planar Power will raise your cap by 5 each time you train it, max 5 times and it cost 2 points each time.
Innate Enlightenment will raise it by ten, 5 times max too. Costs 3 points.

Of course, didn't know about that special Trohpy you get when you hit skills of 265? Hehe, thanks for the heads up. My fat fingers sometimes do things I don't know about.
