  • Foraging

    Hey there...

I'm an avid forager looking to make some profit out of it -

If any of you knowledgable experts out there could list off 5 or so of the most expensive/worthy/rare forages, what they usually go for (I do understand that it depends on which server... but an idea would be nice) which zone they can be foraged in, and how rare they are.

That information would be a huge help to me. I'd appreciate any information on the topic -- I've searched around and can't come up with anything

    Thanks again,
    Raeneth

two items i know i would pay for are:
    tea leaves
    misty acorns

and i forrage myself.. just such a pain to get those to show up on the ol' pointer

250 in brewing with a trophy! All other trade skills? /sigh don't ask.

      Thanks.

I've also heard planar oak, yew leaves, and dragon eggs.

Justice fruit and breadcrumbs from PoJ are huge sellers...all those folks doing baking for Aid Grimel (or just to make the party platters) will snap them up quick.

Here's what I look for in the bazaar all the time, and what i'm willing to pay:

              Morning Dew 20p
              Tea Leaves 10p
              Dragon Eggs 50p
              Branch of Planar Oak 150p
IMBUED Plains Pebbles 20p (imbued only, i can forage bushels of em but can't imbue myself)
              Wild Cabbages 10p

For my server these are low prices, but i'm not made of plat you know! I just buy when they're priced right and save stuff up til i get enough for a good run. Yay double bank space!

And occasionally for a couple of projects:

              Roots 1p
              Vegetables 1p

Thanks a ton for all the replies, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I'm going to assume foraging in PoJ/PoGrowth/ToV is the best.

All of the foraged/dropped items for making robes seem to sell well, also. (Bamboo shoots, Honeyberry, Sylvan Berries, etc.)

As a forrager, you might want to know about a new command that seems to have been added without any announcement:

                    /autoinventory

Drops whatever is on your pointer into your inventory.

                    Woohoo.

Sanna, Ornate sales crashed my High Elf Cultural market (not so much the ornate itself, as folks getting rid of their old cultural armor) so I don't buy Morning Dew much at all anymore. But now the Acrylia market has been ruined by the secondary resellers, and sickle market is ruined due to who knows what, so I'm back to it. Only thing is, it's used like water in my smithing and so i can't really afford to buy it anymore. I WILL pay up to 20pp for it when i run low, but right now i'm hunting it myself, and barely breaking even if I manage to sell any armor anyway.

                        To add to your list:

-- Plant shoots -- Jaggypine, high baking, LOY robe dyes

-- Wild Cabbage -- North Karana, baking for solstice earring

-- dragon eggs -- West Wastes/Temple of Veeshan, blessed fishing rods

-- Honeyberry -- Dreadlands, Loy robe dyes

                        and...

                        /autoinventory??!?!?!!

                        WOOOOT!!!!

A note on your dragon egg foraging. You'll forage three types of eggs while you're in WW/ToV: dragon, drake & wurm. All three can be used for baking (although you'll want to save the dragon for dragon egg oil), the later two yield quite a bit, so good for saving for bakers. =)

Drake eggs are also used for Velious tailoring (drake egg oil) if you didn't want to hang onto edibles (i.e., convert your dragon and drake eggs into oils). Just a thought. =)

And just as another thought, cobalt cod (made into cobalt cod oil for Velious tailoring), fished out of the waters in Cobalt Scar, still demand a high price if you're looking for something else to gather whilst on the road.

Oh yeah! When I go forage for Dragon Eggs in WWastes, I usually set up on the shore and fish for

planar oak is also used in wood elf fletching, I think karana fletching as well, for bows.
