  • Vendor item limit?

Am I seeing something here, or is it just coincidence? Every last vendor that I've checked today that showed a full 80 item inventory seemed to ONLY have 80 items total. In other words, when I would buy out one item from an inventory that showed a full 80 (I use a UI mod with an 80 item box), when refreshed the vendor would only have 79 items.. or 80 less the number of items I had cleared out.

It seems too much of a coincidence that even after a patch these full vendors would have exactly 80 items.

Anyone else notice this, or have I gone bonkers?

Yep, now vendors only carry 80 items total

Did a test, bought out one item, exited, refreshed, vendor had 79 items. Sold back the item, plus one more that vendor didn't have previously, exited, refreshed again. Old way vendor would now have had 81 items, with one hidden, so if you bought out one slot there would still be 80 available when refreshed. Nope, vendor only had 79!

The nerf bat has connected hard with us tradeskillers this time, at least those of us that utilize vendor mining.

Somebody please tell me I'm wrong!

      Venors Overstock Gone?!?

I noticed this too and also performed the same tests - It seems the inventory "hidden under the counter" has been eliminated

Time to send a design feature comment - think of all those wonderful items that will go poof because a vendor is full of cloth armor!

        Hello-

Just noticed this also. I even went so far as to see if the items were 'there' but could only be accessed if a like item re-entered the vendors inventory. No-go.

I also experienced, at least twice - problems with buying an item - and it showing like it was still there (as in - more available) and when i tried to buy again - and error came... but exiting the vendor and coming back solved that - as well as removed the falsly-listed item.

I would guess that there may be a glitch with how vendors are working at the moment - and we will have to see if this is patched soon - and whether or not our 10 hidden slots come back.

I would have to say though - that I would become very bored if they were gone forever. I used to amuse myself with looking for interesting things - both to keep and to re-sell in that way....

          Yeah I noticed.

The traders in bazaar have always been like that. The list gets a little out of whack if you buy the last item in a stack, because it's trying to move all items below it in the list up one. It blanks the wrong slot sometimes, especially if you're buying more than one type of item without closing the window and reopening it in between. And of course traders were limited to the visible 80 items as well, there were never the extra ten hidden items.

So I'm thinking this may be intentional and permanent. They might finally fix the purchasing bugs though.

I also experienced this bug - same as what was sometimes happening in the bazaar (As noted by Sylphan). Problem is they have now mucked things up (as far as I'm concerned) even more - The missing item bug has appeared on NPC vendors AND they appear to have eliminated overstock!

I'm sending a message on the Sony EQ website. They seem to have either listened to my last one (or corrected an unintentional effect) from the prior patch when they made Mass Enchant/Imbue spells No Drop. They reversed that in an interim fix (which thankfully allowed me to transfer the 10 spells my Druid had purchased for my Enchanter before noticing they were No Drop. ).

Well I gave up "vendor mining" long ago when they put in the 80 item vendor windows. If it isn't visable, I'm not digging for it.

Although back in the day, getting that huge pile of HQ bear pelts from a vendor in EF was a huge score. I sold a lot of backpacks that week.

I don't know if this ia an old or a new thing..
The other day I was making Mino Brew in Halas, and I often got the error that I couldnt buy that item, cause I allready had one, and they were lore. But they were not lore. Going to another vendor and browsing him, then going back seemed to fix this.

Also when selling back, I sold tons and tons of bottles back to the vendor, at a point the vendor said that they wouldnt buy anymore items at this time. Is this new?

Not only is vendor mining fun it gets rid of some of the excess plat that is floating around. I'm highly ticked off if they did this on purpose.

                    something has to be done

YES I noticed this also and am very upset about it -- upset enough that I registered here to say something about it...

What they do not understand is that within 2-3 months the bazaar will dry up... Nobody will have pelts anymore and this will severely affect tailoring.

Where can we post things more or less officially -- we need our slots back!

I've /bug'ed this buyout-causes-lore thing after seeing it a few times. The first time I was just dumbfounded, thinking "since when did puma skin become lore?" (was mining for skins for vials).

And maybe it's just my server, but has anyone else noticed that merchants are getting reset almost daily? I logged on one morning to see that all the PoK vendors were empty and figured the server went down that night. The same thing happened the next morning, and the next. I asked around and the server had not gone down, and no zones went down that anyone was aware of.

Sad to say but it seems that they have (gawd i hate to use this term) nerfed vendor mining....

nothing seems to be 'under the counter' any more.. and i was just getting the hang of it...

Considering the fact that I'm still getting the "lore" message on non-lore items occasionally, I think this is bugged not nerfed. Please /bug and /feedback this and maybe if they realize that to some people this is part of the game they will fix it. I really don't think there is any reason to nerf this - most likely someone messed up somewhere but since it isn't game breaking it may not get fixed unless they know people care.

The lore thing comes about because the vendor inventories aren't updating properly. If you buy out (control+click) some item and still see more and think, woo hoo! more than a stack!, then get the lore message, check again. You will find that you probably have less than a stack in inventory and if you refresh the vendor, the item will be gone.

I never found anything that great mining, but the under the counter stuff was nice sometimes. Shrug, not a huge issue to me.

I /feedback it every time I go online.

I have found a lot of good stuff vendor mining -- mostly in terms of pelts, skins, or silks. It would have been nice for smithing temper ingredients I am sure...

I do find some stuff "vendor browsing" now but not nearly as much.
