  • Which is cheaper Int or Wis

    Hi all
My name is Tuber and I'm a half elven bard. I am lvl 39 and permanently skint (no money).
My base Int is 80 and Wis is 75. I have bought some Int gear and food to raise it to 130.
My question as you mey have guessed, is which stat is the cheaper one to raise?

I know I need Int for my mana pool but most of my tradeskill suit remains in the bank any way and I want a high stat just for the skill ups.

    Excellent site

Tuber lvl 39.4, never been rezzed.

My first character in EQ was a druid. My second was a ranger. I leveled these two characters to 51, so I was used go buying wisdom gear. Then I made a gnome necromancer and I was shocked at how much more expensive intelligence items were from what I was used to paying for wisdom items. I later made an enchanter for trade skill reasons and went through the same thing all over again. I’m not sure if it’s the same on all servers, but my experience on Seventh Hammer is that wisdom gear is much cheaper than intelligence gear, at least in general. What I don’t know is what kind of wisdom gear is available for bards. If bard usable wisdom gear is extremely limited you might still be better off buying intelligence gear.

    Best of luck.

      Thank you for your help.
There is some good wis gear available as bards get plate and some has wis on it for the clerics and pallys.

Tuber. lvl 39.4, never ben rezzed.

This is probably server dependent because I'd say on Innoruuk that wisdom and intelligence gear is about equally expensive.

I did find with my halfling ranger, however, that dex gear is dirt cheap, which is good news for Dozh's fletching career.

My roommate, a cleric, was going to buy a birthday gift for a wizzie friend, and since he was wearing cloth pants at level 58 (you think i kid?), she was looking for pants with about 6 int in them.

6 wis pants on sullon could go for anywhere from 600p to 1.5k, depending on what else was in the pants.

She did find a pair. for 3k, if i recall correctly. She exclaimed and maybe swore, and kept searching.

Everything she tossed out at me was obscenely expensive. I was shocked. It made me very very very glad that I am WIS and not INT. It makes me not want to make an INT char. Ever.

In many ways, I'm not even sure WHY int is so expensive. Does it not drop much? Is it hard to aquire in the first place?

          To answer the original question:
On Sullon, WIS can go for 50p/point to 100p/point. INT is much more expensive. And it seems to be this way on the handful of other servers I've been on.

My experience on The Nameless agrees, WIS stuff is far more available and affordable than INT stuff.

On MT, my experience has been that INT and WIS gear costs pretty much the same, but WIS gear is much more plentiful.

Take that with a grain of salt. It's been a while since I've been gear shopping for a caster.

On E'Ci I recently helped an enchanter friend shop for a skill suit. he already had high intelligence on his basic stuff, but there were some items where he'd given up INT for focus effects and the like, so we went in search of raw INT.

His stuff, point for point, was more expensive than my equivalent ranger wisdom stuff. A lot of the ranger wisdom stuff isn't much good for anything but hanging out in the PoK looking like a druid with no spells while tradeskilling, but that's all wanted it for. It was hard to find the equivalent INT stuff anywhere near in price. In soem cases, it was hard to find the equivalent INT stuff at all, like Velium Jasper rings are +7 wis that tend to sell at close to cost, but no one seemed to be selling a +7 INT finger item at all. Is there one?
