What are the Grains of Burning Sand, and Sandstorm Pearls for?

I see where the sandstorm pearls can be powdered, i assume for a subcombine for a greater reason

iirc, Grains of Burning Sand is vendor loot.

Sandstorm Pearls are eventually used to make Storm Rider Leather/Chain/Plate Armor, Ceramic Rod of Storms or Hurricane Temper.
