Level 53, 180 skill Wood Elf Fletcher here. I've gotten this far with 149 dex...sometimes with a bit more depending on if I can find a Shammy to buff me. I know it's not a lot, but I really don't have much money to blow on a dex suit so I just grabbed a few items. I plan on getting to 202 soon and I've been trying to decide which route would be better for me. I have at most 5k to spend on this right now. If I were to make the Acrylia arrows at ~190 dex would I just be wasting my time? I really don't want to go out and farm for hours only to come back and not get any skill ups. Making bows is out of the question for me. The other route I've heard of it mithril...which is middle of the road from what people seem to be saying. Is it at all viable to do mithril from 202 to 238 (or whatever you have to be to have 252 modified)? Lastly, if I need more money to fund this operation, would making the higher end Wood Elf bows be a good source of income? I was thinking I could make the Blessed Faydark Swiftbolt or Blessed Faydark Cloudburster for a bit. My foraging is about 190 and I don't mind getting my Smithing to an appropriate level for the mithril stuff. I'm actually taking up Fletching to profit off selling Blessed Faydark Thunderbolt. Anyway, I am one confused Ranger now so please help me.

this is how i feel on acryila, if you buy all the acriyla mainly cause farming it is a pain, and either farm or buy your own chunk of cond ____ it not that costly, about 10k i would say. buying bricks/blocks at like 60pp and less only tho. On the rathe at least, bazaar is stock piled with acryila every night around that price. took me about 2 weeks tho, just for letting people restock and buying them out and making to bundles.Prophet Kongming<Tindi' Losi> of the Rathe

If you only have 5k, I'd try to find the condensed and acry for now. Condensed is easy enough to farm and can be found on vendors in shadeweavers and shar vahl sometimes. I've found acry on vendors in DSP by the truckloads, but had to mine through the vendors to get to it. Acry in the baz for me seems a bit high at times, but I've bought some.
The high end bows sell well enough (at least on RN), and you might be able to make a few of those to sell off to fund further fletching.
If you go to PoG to forage those planar oaks, remember to take a druid or take a port potion...there's no exit.
Mithril seems pretty middle of the road, cost and skillup wise (at least in my experience). You could always farm condensed and make high end bows to fund the mithril
But good luck with whatever you do! And get those shaman buffs or some cheap dex gear, it really makes a difference.Retired -
