An interesting discussion last night in /gu got me thinking. The gist of the discussion was some folks were wondering about the prices of elemental bows, and were wondering why they were mostly in the 100-200k range for something that is player-made -- not realizing that they were the best in class for bows (for Rangers at least).
Got me thinking, there is a bow that is better than elemental bows, but by most accounts it stopped dropping a week after the first guild or few guilds got to the elementals -- sounded like it was a case of a bow being on the wrong critter (perhaps it was supposed to be on Xegony or something in Time, who knows?).
What if the bow was supposed to be player made? I have always dreamed that the best bow you could get would be one you make for yourself (and not tradeable). Perhaps it has been there all along.
Has anyone out there experimented with alabaster beaks to see if perhaps it can make something other than the glaze? It would sure be interesting if the best bow in game had been right under our noses for the past six months...
