  • Required skill level for Trueshot Longbow?

Does anyone know the minimum skill you should have before even attempting the Trueshot bow? I have seen posts on allakhazam with sucesses/failures from 112 through 190. It appears something changed between Oct and Dec of 2002. Like they lowered the trivial for this bow. I know trivial of 235 is what's posted on this site, but I just did not find any posts that confirm the minimum/trivial skill needed.

A while back I remember someone saying they did it with a skill of under 20. I did my first one around 100. Took about six attempts.

There is no hard cap minimum skill needed. The potential exists for someone to make a Trueshot with 0 skill and get a skill up to 1 in the process. Not very likely but the potential exists.

Given how relatively easy it is to make arrows to 202 skill, I'd suggest skilling up on them before giving the Trueshot a try.

        Well, it's like this...

As mentioned, while the potential for success exists at any skill level, in order to give yourself about a 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 chance (thereby minimizing your farming time), get to about skill 150 or so. While it is easy to go as far as 202 on storebought materials, for the level at which a Trueshot would actually be useful, 150 or so is a reasonable goal. While it is a documented fact that the RNG hates me in particular (far more than any other player in the game ), I failed 10 attempts at around skill 104. There are, indeed people who have succeeded on their first try at (insert really amazingly low skill level here), but general consensus is getting up to around 150 (succeeded on my first shot at 148) will give you a fairly good chance of success. This is based off of my own research long ago both at the old boards (the ezboards) here at EQTraders, as well as checking things out over at the Ranger's Glade.

To sum up, get to about 150 fletching. Gather enough supplies for about 5 attempts. Go to town. You then have a good chance of crafting yourself a fine new bow.

The trivial level for the Trueshot Bow is insanely high for what it bow is now and the level that you can get al the components at. I think the trivial is 220. As everyone else said though, you have a CHANCE at making it at any skill-level. Some people have talked about getting it their first try and others have mentioned it taking more effort for them. I had the WORST luck with it and failed 30 times before I got my skill-level to 150 and ANOTHER 20 something times AFTERWARDS. I failed so many times that I was confused by what I was looking at when I finally succeeded and it showed up on my cursor.

Just remember they're lore, so if you're doing them for skillups, call out to the newbies to come get them

                Trueshot Failures

Well, I have worked very hard on my fletching skills and finally got it up to 120 Gosh, that gets expensive!!

Looking at the post on success/failure and my current level (11 Ranger) figured I'd give it a try. 5 attempts, 5 failures  OK...so making the round trip for components for multiple attemps, camped in SF for the micro servos and managed to lvl to 14 last night Even got in 4 critical hits with my bow and my skill lvl only 25...but increasing 8)

I've seen other posts from peeps on other forums with skill lvl approaching 200 that have had multiple failures. So just a word to those who think this is a cake walk...be prepared for many failures and be VERY happy if you get one success.
