Hey Fellow Fletchers!
So yea Im a Warrior, a Troll Warrior. I love bows, arrows and all that Jazz so I decided to pick one trade and GM it. I chose fletching, and lemmie tell you it isnt easy being a non-woodelf, with low int, wis, and cha. Anyway it was a challenge but heres how I did it.
- Bought some wis gear. All crap from the Bazaar for about 2k total. Swapped in/out for fletching combines.
- Always fletched with shaman/enchanter buffs. This was a major major improvement, especially with the dex buffs.
- I went all the way to 202 with vendor arrows, after 202 I went straight to Acrylia arrows. Vendor bows can take you all the way to 250, but, friends of mine have done it and it cost them about 100k roughly. For each bow I made I lost about 110pp roughly - and thats reselling to a vendor with 121 cha. Bricks of Acrylia can be bought in the Bazaar for roughly 60p - 80p and for every successful brick turned into 2 bundled acrylia arrow shaft you get x2 combines, rather then the bow for one. True the acrylia arrows do take more time, but for people who dont have the mega funds (like me) its a good route to go.
Acrylia can be farmed from a few good places. I spent hours helping people get Shards from Acrylia Caverns and snagged the Acrylia for my services. This was the best way I found to gather the white stuff. I tried soloing in Acrylia Caverns and I could do it - 65 Warrior - but it was very time consuming, boring, and the Acrylia drop rate wasnt that great being alone. I wouldnt recomend doing this unless you are a true solo class.
Acrylia was surprisingly easy to gather in Tenebrous Mountains in the grimling caves and off the alien dudes. They have low hp and very easy to kill, unlike the Grimlings in Acrylia Caverns. Grimling Forest was just a waste of time. I didnt get a single brick in 100 grimling kills. Im also told that the Gorangas in DSP and in Maidens Eye drop Acrylia semi frequently but I havent checked it.
Always look for cheap acrylia in the bazaar! This is the best way I found to get Acrylia!
Now the Arrowheads! Condensed Shadow can drop off Umbrolous Toilers in Maidens Eye, or Shak Drakah dudes in Shadeweavers Thicket. The Shak Drakah are little black alien dudes and drop the Condensed Shadow frequently, and I kill them in one swing. Toilers are more difficult, they have more hp, drop condensed shadow semi-frequently, and they are in a position where you can get adds.
Condensed Ice can drop off the blue aliens in Twilight Sea, the camp is far North, reached by going underneath the hidden cave in the sea. These guys are also very easy to kill, but I didnt find the condensed to be all that frequent. More then Maidens Eye. Also whats annoying is the little Rhino bettles aggro on you regardless of level. =(
Condensed Flame drops off the Red alien dudes in scarlet desert. They are easy to kill, more hp then the regular guys, but drop condensed flame more frequently. Id say these are the best bang for the buck if you are farming the condensed pieces.
BEST bet is to buy cheap in the bazaar! Druids kite these alien guys ALL the time and you can purchase stacks of the stuff for relatively cheap IF you watch the bazaar. I normally buy one piece of condensed material for 5pp.
Anyway those are my tips. Good luck guys!
