  • Cultural, Acrylia or Bow

Wonder what is best way to raise fletching from 204 on, mithril champion arrows, making Bows or Acrylia arrows? (I'm a woodelf btw)

My main concern would be cost.

Well, mithril is pretty expensive and so are bows, unless it's bows like the nightmarewood or the trueshot where you can farm the components. Not sure about the cultural, costwise.
Acrylia is pretty cheap (you buy the fletch and nock) since most is farmed, but can be a pain to farm acrylia.

I've taken my fletching from about 215 to 237 now buying the condensed pieces and acrylia. I've spent somewhere around 15k. The arrows appear to have no resale in bazaar since I can never sell any. I usually just drop em on the ground preparing for a raid and tell my guildies to help themselves if they need.

I've managed to sell the acrylia arrows in the bazaar, but usually only 1-3 pp each. I have better luck selling them to friends for 10pp a stack.

It's the classic time vs money situation.

Bows are easiest to get materials, but cost the most
Mithril arrows involve some work, and less money. But still expensive.
Condensed arrows are practially free if you farm the ingredients, but it takes a lot of time to farm.

If your concern is cost, go with condensed substance.

            Do both!

I skilled up pre-nerf, but here is my suggestion as someone who skilled on acrylia.

It will be slow. I had guildmates help me, picking up acrylia and condensed chunks, but I did a lot of farming too. Most of it was done before acrylia dropped in ME, too.

However, out of the MoBs that are easily farmable for supplies (easy to level 58-60), I usually ended up making a fair amount of money on my farming runs. Either the MoBs dropped 3-5pp each, or they dropped gems/runes which sold very well to vendors. After a really good run, I could actually come out 1k richer. Then I turned around and sold the arrows for 2pp each, and they went steadily at this price.

So, if you're worried about money, I'd go back and forth between farming for acrylia arrows and skilling on bows/mithril.

Its going to take a while for me to get to where I want to go with farming acrylia, but I don't see doing it any other way. Currently I am stuck at 207 fletching and trying to fit acrylia hunting into my playing schedule. I'll be going back to farming for the acrylia again real soon...just as soon as the guild stuff stops distracting me...and I have a raid to lead this weekend...

Go with the Bows, I did last night and went from 203 to 216. Wis or Dex gear is a must for the combines to proc though. Also get an opal encrusted Stein for Cha, as this will help with the buying and reselling for the bows (keeps you there longer). You will have a very good success rate on the bows as well.

Using the Steins I bought the darkwoos staff for 226.8pp and the hemp string for 1sp. the resell was 204.7.7.1pp Dont use the plaining tool as the resell is lower about 200.8pp (did one to check) and the plaining tool was just over 10pp and used up in the process.

Before this I was doing the Mithril Arrows and getting a skill proc about every 120 to 140 combines with a low success rate (have geerlok).

                Hope this helps

acylia is by far more expenive if not farmed. and even if farmed will take you many. if you want to raise it fast and cheap, do mithril champion, about 3.4-3.6kpp will let you do about 200 combines

Ive skilled two characters up to 250 with mithril arrows. By far, the easier route in terms of time. Only took a couple of evenings the second time, and that was post nerf.
